Not convinced that this is best site to trust the care of loved oneemail and request for my feedback…
This email and request for my feedback asks me how my booking for a NANNY went. I had advertised for a senior caregiver. But in regards to that, I wasnt happy that I had to pay for a subscription so I could pay someone to allow me a small window of time to tend to my mom's IRS issues, insurance, bills, etc Evidently the person I had reached out to on Care.com had been trying to call me to set a schedule since the days I had wanted conflicted with hers. When I had first messaged her with my phone number, I did say that texting is probably the easiest way to get a hold of me since I don't always have my phone on me and my mailbox fills fast. I can look at my texts when I have a few minutes. But I never received a text and didnt recognize any missed calls as being local. I sent her 3-4 messages via Care.com. I had asked for referrals and an informal resume since I wanted someone with experience in caring for Alzheimer's patients and some basic info. If she sent that, I did not find it in my files in my phone. Regardless, I communicated to her that I was looking for someone twice a week for 2 hours each day. I believe she had another client 2 days a week. I was in the process of ripping the carpet up from a very large room that my mom sleeps in and as soon as I was done getting the tile down, we could discuss a schedule. My final correspondence was again thru Care.com. It had come up on the week I had wanted the help to begin. I shared that I was getting some help in moving furniture in Moms room and I had an appointment to have my dog to the vet on Thursday afternoon. This was not an appointment I could reschedule, as he has late stage heart disease and Im caring for his needs like I care for my moms. I suggested she could start on Fri, but if Thursday was better, she could work from noon to 2pm, as the vet appointment was at 3:00. I included my address. I told her I would go in and mark my request for a caregiver as "hired". On Tuesday evening, I was checking messages and looking forward to contacting the caregiver and having her start. It felt like it had already been a long week . I stumbled upon an email from her stating she would not be taking this job after all since she has tried calling me several times and was unable to reach me by phone. So, here I am, with too much to do and going from looking forward to an upcoming small block of time to focus on other matters without repeated interruptions, and hoping to finally get my own health matters addressed. Im thinking this was not the right place for me to be looking for a caregiver for a loved one.
