I went to setup my account to be a pet sitter. I payed the 18.99 for screening and then it told me “we can not create your account at this time.” But still took my money off of my card. No number available to call and will not respond to email

ID URGE EVERYONE PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SORT CODE ETC THEY WILL JUST KEEP TAKING YOUR MONEY . Trying to close my account to stop them taking further payments. you are only able to deactivate if you try to close it closes site down or says you have wrong password over and over again. help section is FAQ that are of no use. i have asked my bank to block all payments. this company must be raking it in from people who may not realise they are still having a fee taken from their accounts every month.

I should have gone here first. AVOID. This is a fraudulent/disreputable company. The CEO should be ashamed. I signed up for a trial and canceled quickly w/in their trick terms and conditions. Instead of canceling they raised the charge and kept charging me monthly. emails sending copies of the cancel went unanswered. Calls to corporate were routed to d/c phones. When disputing on the credit card they sent copies of the T&C and said I didn't canel, causing the cc co. to reverse the dispute and recharge me. When I contacted the cc co they explained that they hadn't match my docs and were forced to charge because the co responded (no matter it it was a sham respone) AND it was to late now to reopen a dispute. The Beter Business B. stepped in and got an appology and promise of a check. The explanation was that the co had staffing issues due to covid. Check would be in 8 weeks due to normal processing time. BBB closed out the dispute. However, no check came after 12 weeks so I asked BBB to reopen. Suppenly the check appeared -- dated 2 weeks after the BBB reopen. I deposited sam,e day. Hope it clears. 8 months of aggravation and nearly $200 of dispute for a brief free trail. Update: Interesting. A couple of hours after I posted the review they post a reply putting the blame on me. I have seen this action before typical of disreputable companies.

I registered as a Nanny and received a message looks like a mom. the mom insists on me doing a background check with a company called COMPLETE BACKGROUND SCREENING LTD., I clicked in and it looks absolutely like a scam site trying to ask me to fill in card information. I then research care.com on trustpilot here and I am thinking they are using new ways to scam people. I think some legal actions should be taken against this company.

Care.com is an absolutely terrible customer experience. It’s illegal to charge people after they cancel which they do, they don’t even keep or display accurate billing. They don’t say they have my payment stored online so I could delete it, yet they’re still charging me - also illegal! It’s difficult to get ahold of anyone there, they only have an FAQ page, the email process is so difficult and they even had the nerve to take the time to respond to me that I needed to email them from the portal, not to reply which is outrageous. The email submission form was buggy so I had to use a different browser (I took screen shots as proof).

I recently created a care.com account and signed up for a 3-month subscription. I posted a job online, and had some potential caretakers respond. THEN the app logged me out and I could NOT log back in. I kept trying the forgot password button to just reset my password, but it wouldn't send the link to my email. HOWEVER, through all of this, I kept getting notifications on my phone of people messaging me on the app, but I couldn't log into the app. I finally tried on the website on my laptop instead of my phone, same issue. I am LIVID I wasted $70+ on nothing. What a scam. Never again.

Terrible service. Enrolled me on a monthly subscription without properly notifying me and after I requested to cancel the membership and receive a refund they refused to do so. Not surprised when I saw terrible reviews on here and also are the website. Also don’t expect to see a lot of nanny or babysitter options on their platform.

Looks like I really lucked out several months ago when I signed up I also saw all the fake accounts but luckily a few im of them turned out to be legit and I found a babysitter/nanny...after a lot of trial and error of people being recommended but not having the hours I need or never responding. I am now in need of a back up person and renewed my membership...why oh why did I not check the reviews first! I hope care.com fails VERY very soon! They don't offer refunds because they know people will discover many of their profiles are fake and or tampered with. I sent 5 emails out one morning, 3 of those people were listed as "responds within an hour" it's been almost a week and NOT one of the 5 messages I sent returned my communication. Two other messages I sent before this day showed availability BUT when they responded 1 only worked nights (I need daytime) and another only worked Tuesday and Thursday. Still to Facebook groups and Nextdoor app. Save your money. I hope a lawyer brings them down for dishonest and illegal business practices cause this doesn't seem legal what they're doing is selling a fake product!
