Signed up. Got 2 emails from “applicants”. When I go to site, prompted with subscription fees. That tactic made mr skeptical so came to this side. Disappointed to read the reviews here along with the response from Care.com. Instead of smarmy canned replies the company would be better served focusing on the value they provide to people looking for home care,

My boss signed up to the site to find childcare for his 3 children. The family are based in the UK and were travelling to Maine in the US. Everything was above board, the care needed was daily for a week, well paid and 5/6 hours per day. They took the money when he signed up. Then promptly unsubscribed him with no reason or explanation after a day or so and did not refund him the money, Disgusting service. We will be seeking further advice on how to take this further,

Had to pay 5 dollars in order to have a background check and then got flagged and account suspended over a shoplifting charge. Which yes did happen, over a year ago, it was ruled adjudication withheld, 6 months probation that I finished in 3 months. It was for an amount under 200 dollars and it was all groceries. Wish they would give you a chance to explain before immediately banning you AFTER charging you money. I think it’s hilarious as I currently work at a daycare and previously worked at a public school even with this on my record. So if it’s good enough for a public system not sure why it’s not okay for a private service. Even if I had to disclose to every person I wanted to work for you know at least then they could make that choice. Not set up very well in my opinion.

A Home health care agency recomended Care.com. I should have looked at the reviews before signing on. I never found anyone and now, because I forgot to cancel my subscription when my parents died, they renewed it automatically and I am out another $134 for nothing. You can't even talk to anyone on the phone or e-mail anyone. But their website clearly states they will not give any refunds.

I am a nanny. This site is created for long term use - they have a system to verify hires and to display references from families who hired you over the years. The longer you've been with the site, the more attractive your profile will be. This is very valuable for nannies. However, when they updated their site, they archived all accounts that were not currently active - meaning everyone who was currently employed and not searching, had access to their accounts removed permanently. This means that there is no way to retrieve the references, and all job verified job history is erased. This is incredibly irresponsible for a site meant to help people find work. There is nothing being done to make this right. One would expect a few years would transpire between hires and so removing access makes no logical sense. Their customer service simply asks me to repeat the same tasks again and again that we already verified do not work... continuously takes me in pointless circles - does nothing to solve my problem/concern, and nothing at all to make it right. The low rating is due to god-awful customer service response, and the fact they rendered my carefully created account useless.

Not good so far. I started out with the free service, but when I started receiving several messages about service providers that were a great match and available for hire decided to get a three-month membership. You are not allowed to communicate with potential caregivers until after you upgrade to a premium membership. Now that I can reach out to all of the so-called great match candidates, non are available to hire.

I thought I was the only one that was having a hard time getting a refund, but now I see there's thousands of people with the same issue. They closed my account with no information provided and won't give me a refund. I was told to set up a business account and care.com does not accept Gmail as a business email so I cannot do that either. This is horrible that they are getting away with scamming so many people. I have messaged with atleast 5 people now and I really do not feel like explaining my situation again, just give people back their money!!!!!! I think the BBB needs to look at this site and allow suit for all.

We tried placing an ad where we live to no avail. Could not get anyone to help and care.com. Fighting hard for a refund. Don’t walk, run from these scammers!
