Pros: Helpful at one point briefly with helping find childcare and assisting in voluntary background checks for nervous parents. Cons: 1. They charge all parties 2. Their sneaky auto-renew subscription model is unethical, probably illegal in CA & many states, and bad for consumers. 3. Few caregivers available locally compared to Sittercity (possibly because of frustrating experiences). Fees to all parties: bad UX and customer service prompted both us and our neighborhood babysitter to pay for her background check, with no refunds. Sneaky major annual subscription fees without reminders or refunds. This is horrible customer experience for busy distracted parents on a tight budget. I didn't know a ~$400 subscription renewal was coming till I saw it on our credit card statement. I contacted them promptly (most companies give me full refunds in these circumstances). Care.com refused to refund the full amount even though we haven’t used any paid features for 11+ months, and I contacted within days. They said the best they do is a complicated arrangement that still costs us $40. Sneaky auto-renewing subscriptions are considered unethical, and face growing regulation for consumer protection as some companies refuse to be ethical without explicit laws. As far as I can tell, their actions towards me have violated California laws that went into effect a few months ago. Looks like I missed out on the 2020 $1M class action lawsuit they lost, and I will keep my eyes out for a new one since they keep breaking the law. P.S. A simple search for "are auto renewing subscriptions unethical" or similar will show ethics and legal arguments. Regulations are currently state-by-state as consumer complaints rack up, but federal regulations may come soon.

The charge was supposed to be $12, not $155.

Terrible service. No one answers back. Forgot that I even had the membership while waiting and was charged a year later for another yearly subscription ($108). Inquired about getting a refund and was told they don't offer that. So cheers to another year of paying for nothing. Don't waste your time.

Scam. Allowed me to start and almost complete a post for backup child care for the next morning, then required a subscription to complete the posting. Once I paid for the subscription, the website forced me to start again and informed me for the first time that postings could not be created less than 24 hours in advance. Care.com refused a refund based on the misleading process, despite chatting with a rep and requesting escalated customer service. Never again. Booked with Nanno/CallEmmy instead and they have amazing customer service.

I am a caregiver and I signed up for an upgrade 3 weeks ago . I paid $19.99 as my account was basic after paying 14.99 . Well 3 weeks later my account is still basic . I have sent 3 emails with this complain . No one ever responds . So preety much I give them $19.99 for nothing . There is no phone number to call . I think that’s odd. Another issue is that some spoil families rate you low because you are not willing to do things that are not in the contract . Why can’t we as caregivers report those families but they can report us ?

BEWARE! They keep charging you even when you cancel. I cancelled my subscription a month ago. I still got billed. I want my money back. I would be less aggravated if I had actually found care through them. Horrible company, shady billing

Scammers take your money. No one responds to messages and 80% of applicants can't be booked.
