I met some nice people, and they are now taking care of my loved one. On the other hand, several applicants did not show up for their appointments.

My biggest frustration with Care.com is that applicant's often don't read the posting. We were clear. 1) female only and yet several men applied. 2)Job located in Pasadena and yet applicants from over 1 hour away applied. I had to contact everyone and verify travel time. We also had several no shows for interviews. In the end, we did hire a caregiver. She hasn't started yet, so no comments on that.

I was impressed with the seemingly endless number of qualified people, but this also cut two ways, because I spent considerable time looking at the abilities of numerous candidates. I'm not a computer expert and it would have been of considerable help to me if there were an electronic "container" where I could store the info about the standouts I wanted to consider further.

I had several credible applicants and chose the best fit for me. I would not have found them without joining care.com.

I believe I found a good housekeeper after some searching, but was ghosted by another candidate with whom I had some initially positive exchanges and was considering hiring.

It's a good way to find help in your home. In the last 2 years I've had health issues which prevent me from taking care of my own home. It took awhile, but I found a housekeeper who met my needs at a cost I could afford. She did a great job and became a very special helper when sudden & severe health issues required that I sell my home & move to a senior community within a short time. She helped with sorting things to be sold in a series of garage sales, with marking & arranging those things & cleaning up afterward. She also became a good friend.

The process of hiring a housekeeper went very well. There were several who applied for the job and that was helpful. They all seemed qualified and the messages were all helpful and clear. Having the applicants cleared by Care.com was great. I think the only reason I gave a four star rather than a five star review was simply because the steps to get the request onto the site was a bit complex and not intuitive. Then the cost was a bit more than I thought it would be. I would appreciate if the cost were more up-front. I feel certain that I will use the site again for something related at a later time and it will go a bit more smoothly. I highly recommend the site. I The review needs to 4.5 stars.
