Do not sign up for this service!!! They are not upfront with their fees at all. I cancelled my account and asked for a refund because they had just charged my account the day before. The person who answered the phone barely spoke English and had a party going on in the background to where I could barely hear her. They throw the Terms and Conditions BS in your face and won't give you a one time refund as a courtesy.

I’m not quite sure how things have changed on care.com but they have changed. It used to be that you could get some jobs to reply to you once you applied as a care giver but now it seems they want both ends to pay – the caregiver and the person who is in need of a f care for a lives one to pay. I am on a basic plan where I only paid for a background check and they keep telling me to upgrade and I have not had a single response to any care giving post. I’m disappointed in how this is changed. I don’t know why both parties have to/should have to pay. Also, when you get on the profile you have created it seems impossible to go in there and make changes. I’ve spent hours – literally – trying to remove one profile. I didn’t put in for dog sitting but let’s just say I put in for dog sitting and caregiving for seniors. I no longer want to dog sit and it’s impossible to remove that part of your profile. And you can’t seem to get a hold of anybody to help you either. I’ve literally erased what I had in the profile and wrote a note to care.com stating I do not want to have this portion of my profile anymore and nothing is done about it. I am going to search out another caregiving website. There has to be something out there.

I loved Care.com, I used it to build my personal business for 3 years. I was polite, answered emails quickly and treated it like a business. Out of nowhere I received an email that said they were closing my account because I was not an individual, but a business. I was confused by this and realized that my client wrote a review for me and my husband. My husband was off due to being a Veteran on Veterans Day. He is active duty and came with me by request of my client. She was a new mom and had some heavy furniture she wanted moved so I could clean behind it. When she left the review she must have mentioned my husband helping. I received an email from CARE at 7am that my account was closed. No questions asked, just made a point to tell me it was because of my business. They said there was a care.com for companies and I couldn't use the individual side of the profile. Frustrated I tried to get online and contact them, you can not call them. You can not email them unless you have an account. I had to open up another basic account to emai the company. As I was emailing them I received another email that stated they hated to see me go but by my request they are closing my account. Why is this frustrating, because never did I ask for this, I lost 30 star reviews from pleased clients. This took me 3 years to build and with a click of a button they are all gone. If you are someone who has a desire to use their website be aware they don't treat you like a human, they won't ask questions before taking you off their website. You would think they would investigate then take action. Nope, they don't even take a second to back up why I'm taken off. By the way, I paid for this membership, it wasn't free and yet I still received this treatment.

It is almost impossible to find a job at care.com when most of the profiles are fake. You apply for the job and receive those emails with someone telling a crazy sad story, telling you they will pay you $50 an hour and then ask you for all your personal information. I have many of those replies in my mailbox. It’s crazy to me that care.com wouldn’t filter whoever creates the profiles. Anyone can create a profile and pretend to be an employer.

Buyer beware! I had the same experience the 11/05/22 review had. They quote you a monthly fee for premium(without premium the site is useless). You agree and you then get charged for the monthly times 12, you pay up front for entire year. I did not call to complain because I can cancel anytime. I went to cancel 3 weeks later and was told I could cancel my auto renewal but the money was non-refundable. Very poor business policy. Who quotes a monthly rate and charges you for an entire year? Has anyone contacted BBB about them?

I have to say Care.com needs to be more upfront with their costs and that you cannot message anyone to even determine whether if you are even interested in getting more Information about the caregiver without signing up for a premium subscription. Then once you sign up for the subscription it’s DOUBLE the amount you were led to believe you were going to pay. It’s a SCAM company. Go elsewhere folks.

Predatory billing practices. Not recommended. Customer service is unhelpful.

As someone looking for a carer, if I don't pay for the min 1 month subscription at $45 I can't respond to anyone. That's too much money to find 1 person. I have all these people who have responded interested, but I can't reply unless I pay.
