We have used care.com before and it's…
We have used care.com before and it's always a struggle to actually find a sitter. We did find a few this time which is good, but when I pay them through the app I get charged service fees and some sort of benefits fee. My sitter has no clue what that actually is, so I know she is not getting that money. Deceptive practice is what I would call this. It's a shame too, because the idea here is a good one. I have never had an issue cancelling my account like many on here have. And I made sure to cancel a week early so they didnt charge my card again.

Thanks so much for your feedback, Margaret. When a family makes a payment on the Care.com payments platform, a percentage of that transaction fee will go towards the Care.com Benefits program. The caregiver accrues Care Benefit Bucks that they can access in their Care.com account -- which can add up when receiving payments from multiple families! (To reiterate: that percentage comes out of the transaction fee, NOT the caregiver’s salary.) Families also have the option of doubling the percentage contribution. Caregivers are then able to put those Care Benefit Bucks towards paying for things like health insurance, doctor visits, prescriptions, transportation expenses and education. In total, caregivers can redeem up to $500 over the course of a year. Feel free to share this link to your caregiver to lear more about this program; https://www.care.com/benefits
