THEY ARE SCAMMERS. DO NOT USE. We paid $39 for a one month subscription two days ago to find a house cleaner. We paid an additional $7 for our ad to be highlighted. We received NO APPLICATIONS. We then started contacting cleaners and only received one response stating they weren't looking for a cleaner position. No other responses. Tried to sign in this morning and we were FLAGGED AND LOCKED OUT OF OUR ACCOUNT. TOTAL SCAM. Our guess is most of the care givers are old accounts or fake accounts. BEWARE.

This company presumes to start charging your credit card for absolutely nothing!!! And immediately when you ask for a refund and no longer want anything to do with them, you get an automated answer that states “we do not give refunds”!!!! Ridiculous cause there is no explanation of why they immediately charged 180.00 to my credit card and the another 129.47 within a couple of days without any explanations!! I say Buyer beware of this company.

I've tried twice on Care. com so this is the last time I'm giving this a shot......... I I thought we were moving in the right direction to have someone hired and in place and then 2 caretakers "no-showed" on us or cancelled the day she was suppose to start she said she needed more $ after an agreed upon price. Tried to relist the job, explaining what happened, and care.com would not relist because they didn't want the truth out there, because it was viewed as negative. Now they wont respond, list, nor refund my monthly fee.

I signed up for the premium service and the same day they closed my account. There is no customer service and they do not provide refunds.

I can honestly say Care.com is one of the biggest wastes of time I’ve ever subscribed to. The vast majority of profiles on the platform appear to be inactive. You spend time carefully reaching out to potential candidates, only to hear nothing back. In my experience, the response rate is well under 5%, which makes the entire process incredibly frustrating and inefficient. For a paid service, the value simply isn’t there. You’re essentially paying for access to a database that is outdated and unresponsive. The platform does little to ensure engagement or accountability from caregivers, which defeats the purpose of using a service like this in the first place. I’ve had significantly better luck using community-based platforms like Nextdoor and local neighborhood groups, where people posting are actually active and interested in helping. The difference in responsiveness and quality is night and day. Bottom line: this platform is not worth what they charge. Save your time, save your money, and look elsewhere.

I intended to purchase 1 year of service from Care.com for $155. After the web site took my credit card information and confirmed the purchase it used deceptive techniques called “sneak into basket” and “DoubleClickjacking” to add two additional charges of $180 and $84, in addition to the $155 I was paying. I immediately (within minutes) canceled both and sent a message to the website that I did NOT purchase those additional services. They claim that enhancements/add-ons is a subscription service and is non-refundable. There are very good caregivers trying to find clients on care.com, but I’m afraid that care.com tries to take advantage of both clients and caregivers.

Waste of time and money. I am down a good chunk of money with no results. I had better luck with Facebook groups. They also refuse refunds.

This is a subscription service. I hired a caretaker for a few hours and never used them again. A year later, without any notification, Care.com charged me $155.40 for a year long premium membership that I will not use. Had they notified me in advance that the due date was coming up, I would have cancelled since I don't use their service. I don't understand why a company that is based on care (Alzheimer's in my case) doesn't understand the stress and daily chaos for caretakers, managing a job and two households while caring for an elderly parent. All they had to do was send an email notifying me that the subscription charge was coming. This is more like "Careless.com" Shame on them. This money could have been used for groceries or something useful. Do NOT sign up for a subscription!
