This site probably boarders on a scam, please beware of paying for a premium membership as there are absolutely no one truly looking for employment of this site, I know because I contacted dozens of them. No one could pass a true background check (fingerprint at police department). When I contacted them and provided proof of lying by applicants and the issue with backgrounds, their response was that wasn't Care.com's responsibility and refused a refund. Every care provider I contacted wanted to work under the table, that is with me offering to pay $20+ per hour and employer portion of FICA taxes.

Care.com is a truly evil company. If you’re facing a family emergency and scrambling for a caregiver like I was, do not rush into using Care.com, it isn’t worth it. It’s hard enough to go through what you’re going through without feeling taken advantage of by this company. I’ve never even thought about writing a review like this and I hope to never do it again. They make it incredibly difficult to cancel your subscription – and refuse to refund you after you try to cancel it. Their customers are people who are in dire need of help, and Care.com decides to prey on these people rather than care for them. They also sent an email at 12am 6 months after we hired a caregiver (and after we thought we canceled our subscription that they continued to charge us for) that the person was not safe to use. Caregivers and those who need care deserve so much better than this disgusting business.

I signed up to be a sitter and a tutor on Care.com. I paid $25 for a background fee. I spent over an hour trying to upload a video because the site says that you're 20 times more likely to get hired with a video. It said uploading and then I got no more information and the video isn't there. I tried several times. The site also mentions the importance of getting reviews. I requested reviews from two families. One, I'm not even sure if my request went through. The other, I was told that the family (who had to sign in first) submitted a review but I don't see it on my profile. It also looks like it has me listed as a sitter only, not as a tutor. When I have tried to get help, you have to buy a premium membership in order to be able to chat online with customer service. They offer no technical help to the providers listed on their site. I signed up because I need extra money and it wound up costing me money. Also, the jobs don't seem to update. Every time I log in, they're offering the same jobs. I paid for nothing and am disappointed in the money and time I wasted.

I really wanted to write positive review for this platform, but not the case after my latest experience. I canceled my service as directed on their website. I just was charged for a 'downgraded' membership. I didn't request a downgrade- I wanted it canceled. I just found out, after extensive searching, that my charges are not refundable. I just people to be aware of these loopholes and make sure you really get things canceled. Very frustrated.

such a difficult site to navigate, definitely very manipulative/dark UX patterns and do not prioritize their users. designed to keep users throwing tons of money with little to no service. every step is designed to be difficult for the average user to wants to see what the site has to offer. Facebook groups are much more efficient for finding an actual vetted caregiver with trustworthy reviews from your own community.

Inconsistent Care. In 2019, we spent months trying to find someone who would be consistent and reliable and were unable. After cutting our losses, we picked a Montessori and cancelled the service. To my surprise, the service wasn't cancelled and we've paid them ~$750 for unused service over a span of 4yrs, no e-mail notifications or texts communicating billing cycle. Looking at their Ts&Cs, they're aware of what they're doing. Stay clear, and ask friends/fam for references instead.

I agree with most of the other reviews. they trick you into a auto renew contract (not obvious when you sign up). I initally paid for 3 months - used it for 1 week. Then they auto renewed it at a higher rate for another 3 months. No give you advance notice of the renewal and will not refund the money. Customer service rep could barely speak English and had to ask 20 question to find my account/charge which tells me their systems suck. Should be able to find with my name

The process of applying was simple enough at the start; however, there were several points at which the site would reload, and my application started to look more like a babysitter application than the tutor application I had been filling out. Whatever, technical difficulties, right? Well, I get to the part where it says I need a background check. I put in my info, and it said my payment didn't go through. The next day, I saw not one, not two, but three charges on my account. Thankfully I was able to fix it through my bank, but support was 1) difficult to find contact info for and 2) super unhelpful. Not even a response to indicate they received my message. Do not attempt to work for Care.com. If you need to use their services, I completely understand. But seriously, try to look elsewhere. They are sketchy and honestly not worth the time or effort.
