Hidden fees and changes in terms of agreement

We actually found one great sitter from care.com, but they are not transparent about their charges and it feels really scammy. We paid for a 1-year membership thinking that that was it--you pay the membership but not a fee for each transaction, and that's how it was at first. But then all of a sudden when we wanted to post a job, we had to go through an automated process that inflated the sitters' hourly rate (you can see what the sitter said her rate was and what care.com charged was $4/hr higher) and then added a fee that was always in excess of $17, even though we paid for a whole year's membership. When I emailed the company, they gave me this pathetic answer, as if this "policy" makes things transparent. Notice how it says "Fees are subject to change."Care.com's mission is to provide the very best platform in the world for care, and we continually invest in tools and features to help families connect with great caregivers. In order to support the ongoing development of the site and provide you with a high-quality booking experience, we charge a nominal service fee for each booking. Please note that, as part of your Premium membership, the fee is automatically discounted (no promo code needed!). Fees are subject to change." Sorry, but $17 fee for a 3-hour booking is not "nominal" I can provide screenshots upon request.

Total scam
Total scam. I tried this out for a month and paid the $41.00 for the subscription. I cancel the subscription the next day. Next month they charge me. They said they have a non refunded policy and I told them I cancel the subscription but they have no re cord on it. Never again I closed my account and dispute charges with my bank smh. Money hungry people. I did reach out if you read my review. Yall said you don't refund no matter what.So I'm basically paying for a closed account. Scam people.

I tried to cancel.
I tried to cancel. Charged me $240 and 155.40. Tried chat and promise to cancel, On app I tried to cancel, cancelled for next year but not current year, I was just looking for, I am not able to contact any live person. This company is a scam.

Don't be fooled
As far as I can see, this is a total con. Lots of posts (eerily similar) about people needing dog walkers, but when I apply not one person has replied. Also, and strange this, but a lot of posts say 'message me to express an interest' which comes with a fee.

Phoney nannies and baby sitters. Absolute lack of support. As soon as you pay the full membership, the hundreds of messages that have come through dry up. Don't waste your money with these cowboys.

such a rip off company
such a rip off company. If I could give zero stars I would. They take your money, and yep, thats all you get. I wouldn't use them to find a care giver or to get a job.

No, no, no, no. Great attention! It's a fake site. You won't be able to get in touch with anyone. You can't do more than sign up, pay and mention if you're interested in a job or not. You never get a reply to messages you

Charged for a service not provided
I serched for a dog sitter, spoke with one of Care.com’s dog sitters, never settled on an actual date. After I came back from trip, found Care.com had charged me the full amount for the dog sitting service. I filed a complaint, but only recieved a partial repayment.. I payed $544 for 10 days of dog care I didnt receive, nor did I authorize this payment from them. Be very careful when dealing with Care.com
