I have used care.com for the past four years. They have become predatory, seeking to extract as much money from you as possible. When you book a sitter, you now have to make payments through the website, and no longer directly to the sitters. Then they charge your card MORE THAN the amount agreed, plus taxes AND administrative fees. Oh by the way, the nannies you initially choose are 'not available' and you're stuck with the less favourable alternatives they provide. Bait and switch. Utterly ridiculous. I have cancelled my membership, and it is GOODBYE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

I have the monthly membership. I don’t think most of the people are real. A couple responded to the job I posted. When I responded back them I never heard from them again. The one I did hire missed her first tutoring session. She rescheduled it to another day. She came but was late. She was suppose to tutor my son twice per week. We never saw her again. She missed the next six appointments. She had to work over at her other job, she was at the emergency room, she was out of town was the reasons she say she missed. The last week she missed she didnt give any reason. She didn’t even call to cancel. She was very unprofessional. I left a review for her stating this and care.com removed it. I guess they only want you to see the good reviews.

kept charging my bank card even after I canceled a month prior. Did not acknowledge the facts when I asked about it and to tell them to stop. very rude and dishonest.

They are a scam. I was on the site for 3 years, as a caregiver. At first I was dong great, but was with a family for 9 months full time. So after that job finished i went back on. I was on there every am looking for another job. Most of the jobs I contacted , were not real. Care puts up fake jobs!! Then they tried to extort more money from me, said I was running a business. That i needed to upgrade to a business profile. In bold letters I had on my advertising that I was an Independent contractor! I was not getting any business from them!! I know fake jobs when I see them. been doing this for 15 years. I confronted them about the jobs, said they were old jobs being posted, or fake. They closed my account sending me an e-mail saying I could upgrade to a business' membership. They have uneducated workers who answer the chat calls. I had just paid for my premium membership as well as background checks. So I lost all that money. I'm glad I not advertising on there anymore. I think most of the people on there now are "The illegals that are arriving in the US, because the rates have dropped to almost minimum wage! A good caregiver won't charge minimum wages! Stay clear of this company. I have just reported them to the better business Bureau they are based out of Austin TX. If more people would report them, maybe they can be stopped from stealing from everyone. Copy all of your correspondence and chats with with, it helps when you have proof for the better business Bureau

Same comment as the others : auto-renew membership is on without asking for your conscent and there is no option to turn it off, you need to contact the support for it.

Total scam. Charged me for a year even when I signed up only for a month. Wouldn't refund the difference. Not able to find anyone through the service either.

They're a Scam If you use Apple, best bet is to request a refund through them and ensure you're not billed anymore by them. Search: Apple App Store Support > nav to purchases and refunds I signed up, selected the monthly service to try it out. 15mins later I'm locked out. After three days of trying to contact them (good luck, they're a ghost town with ghost numbers and ghost emails) and seeing all of the negative praise about them I realized it's a con and went to the source: Apple.
