The service is built around fake and dead profiles. They also charge you randomly and dont respond to you when you question them.

Care.com was a wonderful business that was founded in the early aughts by a smart woman, whose focus seemed to be providing excellent service and having happy customers. I remember in its early days, it felt like the people who ran and worked for the company really cared about helping customers who needed services find good service providers nearby. So, the business was successful, it had an IPO and was ultimately acquired by IAC, a large company that has a sizeable global portfolio of media and digital businesses that generate ~$2.4B/year. As part of this holding company, Care.com's service has deteriorated. Now, when I post a job, I receive what feel like auto-generated applications--i.e., the so-called "applicants" haven't even read my job description/requirements, so they don't realize that they're not a fit. Sometimes, they're not even in my geographic area. Plus, I suspect that many of them wouldn't have applied if they had actually read my job description. Sending me auto-generated applications is a total waste of my time and very annoying. I also don't like the fact that IAC converts you to an auto-renewing membership if you want to be able to communicate with applicants. Who the heck is going to hire a nanny, housekeeper or dogwalker without communicating with them? Bottom line: What used to be a nice, useful personal service business, now feels like a completely impersonal and scammy money-making SaaS platform machine. No like.

I used this several years ago and was pleased with it. I have no idea what happened but it’s now disappointing. Their app, their customer service ..horrible. To go from an excellent service to horrible in every aspect is a big disappointment. I would NOT recommend.

This website is terrible as a caregiver. I have used them for 10+ years and I’m finally completely done you hardly get responses even paying for premium and with five star ratings the app does not work very well - in fact, sometimes not at all.. and contacting customer service via phone and email are both nearly impossible.

My wife and I hired a 1 time caregiver for our 9-year-old and the lady showed up with no teeth looking like a crackhead and nothing like her picture. When we went to the website of care.com to cancel our membership, it was impossible to do so because none of their links worked. No support links worked, no phone number worked, the review link didn't work, and they don't use their email anymore so you can't contact them. Very untrustworthy and scammy if you ask me and horrible service. I do not recommend.

I enrolled in a one time monthly membership last month to find a house cleaner. I paid the one time monthly membership fee. Today I looked at my credit card statement and seen another new charge from this company dated 4/24/26 which I did not consent to. I contacted the company explaining my member that I paid for was a one time monthly fee and requested a refund. I received an email stating that they would not refund my money. Apparently this company has a history of deceptive practices as per the below FTC information from 2025. The FTC is distributing over $8.1 million to 194,207 users of Care.com. According to this FTC press release, this follows a settlement regarding deceptive claims about job availability, earnings, and difficult subscription cancellations. Eligible users received checks or PayPal payments in June 2025, which should be redeemed quickly.

Seem that Care.com might be more associated with babysitters than anything else, my account was showing that I was looking a job as Tutor, when I am not. I did chat and call Care.com and they were no able able to removed it, then ask for the refund and the denied to refund my money even they closed my account. No lost your time or Money.
