Terrible site. Extremely expensive. They don’t even give you an invoice. I paid $60 to find only 1 nanny who was available part time for 5 days. Total waste of money. Better go with local Facebook groups!

Thank you for your feedback, Renata. We're sorry to hear that our service didn't meet your expectations. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer. We do offer a range of subscription options to meet various needs and budgets. If you need help with your search or if you have questions regarding billing issues, please feel free to reach out to us through the contact us link at help.care.com or through Facebook Messenger. Never-ending subscription you never wanted
Care.com - I signed up for one month and have been billed relentlessly, despite cancelling. Since cancelling I can no longer log in to my account to get any sort of customer service or make any contact with the vendor. Such TERRIBLE service. Phone number is not answered, don't waste your time calling it. Info email is not monitored. I have resorted to getting my credit card company involved to cancel the transactions for a service I did not authorise for more than ONE MONTH. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

They shorted me on a refund after blocking my jobs for over a week
I used care as one of my options over the years to find caregivers and up until the last year or so they were great to work with.
There were some limitations such as them not having workmans comp insurance for people with disabilities (had to buy that through my states options) and I did feel like their payroll company was much more expensive than necessary but it kept me legal while I focused on work and family.
This last go round they would not post my jobs for over a week even though it was the exact same listing that I have used for years outside of hours and pay rate increases. Continued to chat and initially they refused to give me a number despite my telling them there was no number on my billing statement. I finally made a complaint through the BBB and they then closed my membership and refunded me partially for my plan (they shorted me 25 bucks because they charged me for the time I couldn’t use the account the full monthly rate instead of the discounted monthly amount).
I will likely have to learn of other options and resources for caregivers at this point.
ETA: the same email I am using here is what was used for my care account. I had to dispute their charges with my bank and the BBB. Please look at your records and stop acting like you are confused as to who I am and what I have had issue with.

These people are scammers. Do not deal with them
I used care.com in late September of this year to find a CNA to escort my 92 year old mother-in-law to my wife’s sister’s end of life service, who died of cancer. I was able to connect with a care giver and all went well, until I tried to cancel. The Care.com website says you can cancel any time. So I canceled. When you do the website immediately logs you out and you get NO Confirmation. On Oct 29th they charged my card again. I thought I had canceled. So I got back on the site, logged in (?) and canceled again. Again immediately it logged me out, no confirmation. I tried to call. No answer on the phone. I tried chat. Have to be a premium member. So I called my bank. Told them the situation reported it as fraud disputed the charge and canceled the card. The bank reversed the charge. Yesterday I noticed they somehow got my new card number and again charged me, not only yesterday, but on November 29th. Again I canceled my card, reported them to my bank. I have canceled again and again. My cancellation is ignored. I keep getting charged. They should not have been able to get my new card number. How did they do that? They have planned this. You have to agree to not go after them with a class action lawsuit to use their service. I read that after I stupidly agreed without understanding the implications. You assume a company in this line of business would do the right thing. Particularly given several of their executives got degrees from Cox school of business at SMU. Great Christian people. But apparently they skipped the ethics courses.
To Care.com:
This is not an appropriate response. I have tried calling you several times at the phone number listed on my credit card (737-202-3114) statement. You never answered. Regarding whether I "feel" I canceled my account, there should be NO QUESTION. Your website is programmed to automatically LOG PEOPLE OUT when they click "cancel" and there is NO CONFIRMATION GIVEN. You do this so you can say "I didn't properly cancel".. Baloney. What does it take to "cancel"? What SHOULD it take to cancel?
I KNOW I don't have multiple accounts. To suggest that also shows your dishonesty.
I canceled on 10/12/2023.

This one has also been reported to my bank as fraud, has been investigated and reversed.
This is why you have a "no class action lawsuit clause", isn't it?
My comments stand.

Total garbage
Total garbage. Won't refund me even though I KNOW I cancelled my membership. Why would I need more than 3 months of this service if I found reliable people on it? Total scam, and stupid desperate me has actually used it twice. You're better off using free groups on Facebook to find local people. Screwyou Care.com - from a single mom who $70 matters way more to than your crappy company.

Miles of fine print; Waste of funds; Refusal to Refund (EVER...see fine print)
I signed up as a single parent in need of support for a year subscription seeing that the applicants had background checks. We just moved to town and was having surgery. I felt it was too expensive but we cannot put a price on the care of our children, right? That is if we get the care we need... 2 main issues: The website says the "CareCheck" includes Social Security number trace, National Sex Offender Public Website search, National Multi-Jurisdictional Criminal search, and a Federal and county criminal records search. So all criminal possibilities right? Nope, it does not include a Criminal Records Check or Driving Record Check (even if the applicant says they drive ). Both are the ones you really need for proper vetting (in my opinion) and Care.com seems to strongly suggest it as well. These checks are completed through a THIRD PARTY on their separate website with lots of repetitive information you just inputted into Care.com that does not carry over. Each check is $25/request or a set amount for unlimited amounts. Since I was going to vett quite a few applicants, I signed up for the expensive premier membership that included all of the driving and criminal checks AFTER I already had a subscription to Care.com because I realized I need it. I thought I could hurry through the applicants since I was having surgery and needed someone to help with the kids AND I paid for the checks. Here's the process: You request the background review which has to be APPROVED by the potential sitter and the request is not sent to the applicant instantaneously. They are notified 15 minutes later. IF the applicant decides to agree to the approval (this can be days), only then does the system run for the check and it can take a 1-3 days to run the report. I would have thought EVERY potential employee on there has had a background check and if I paid to see the check, I can see it. This is especially if I have a time sensitive situation. Also, I don't want to offer a job if the applicant is not fully criminally vetted (or spend the time chatting to lots of potentials only to realize they don't want to do a criminal background check). The reasoning given from Care.com's third party affiliate was stated that the check has personal information in it. Well, if the person is serious and signed up, they should be okay with the check. Maybe they need a place that marks if they AGREE to the deeper check. After requesting 4 checks, only one agreed in 6 months.
The second issue is the lack of response or responsibility from applicants. I was a babysitter and nanny for 10 years. If you say yes, the employers is depending on you. I understand things come up. Out of the housekeeping and childcare jobs posted by me as well as me just looking and trying to message people, it was horrible. Few responded to any messages (I was paying around $20-25/hour). One applicant messaged me when I posted a job and said they were not available for a specific date but asked me to keep them in mind. Their availability schedule seemed to work perfect with my schedule. They had a masters degree in elementary education but decided to go corporate. She had flexible hours and could do early or late schedule appointments for my children. I thought I found the one! And then the next two appointments she canceled the day of and the day before. I lost time from my own work and had to pay for missed appointments. She apologized profusely and I get it, but if this is the best Care.com can do with only one response and two no shows in an urban area, I'd have to say NOT RELIABLE.
I believe I read that Care.com says they are the largest caregiver database. A doctor for my children recommended care.com as a possibility to help transport my children. I told the doctor later of my experience of no response and cancelations. She told me she has heard the same from others. The Care.com website is MILES of fine print when you start digging and after you have purchased so it is too late. They have it posted that under no circumstances do you get any refund. I even tried asking. They assured me it would get better but 6 months later I can confirm it was a complete waste of $297.

Looks good at first but total scam
I was happy to find a company that seemed to provide home care for my son who just got out of the hospital. So I signed up for one month of premium service at $38.95. However I almost immediately received an email saying my membership was cancelled because I didn’t meet their community guidelines. However there was no refund of my membership fee. I called my credit card company who said they couldn’t do anything until the debit was posted. But they did have a customer service number for Care.com 737-202-3114. So I called that today. First they claimed there was no account with my email address. Then they claimed there were three accounts with that address and they would have to collect other information. I did give them my birthdate and city and state but they kept saying this was all wrong. I got suspicious when they asked for past residences that I might have used so stopped answering questions. The agent yelled at me that if I couldn’t provide correct information he couldn’t help me. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was told he was not available but would call me in 5 business days.
I have no idea what community guidelines I didn’t meet. Based on what others have said here I think it’s necessary to change my credit card. I also plan to report fraud to my bank. Do not give any money or information to this company.
