For the first time I was hired as a private contractor caregiver thru care.com but only lasted for 4 days because I was forced to be paid thru care.com. I’m a private contractor as a caregiver and the employer will pay me only thru care.com and pay.com. They will deduct tax and social security and keep the money till 2025 filing. In short I resigned from the job. Another way of care.com scheme to use my money coz I have to wait for few weeks before I’ll get my first salary. That’s the reason I stop working as a caregiver. The worst I was immediately asked by the two daughters of my patient to go home late at night instead of 8:00 am because I presumed they’re upset I never give- in to their payment arrangement.i forgot to take all of my things because I need to get out of the house immediately . I’ll report this case to Federal Trade Commission and Department of Labor. Careful with care.com coz a lot answered my inquiry were scammers. Most employers didn’t answer inquiries and some employers they changed the rate against what was posted. Beware and be careful. Don’t trust immediately. Either you landed in a very weird family households with weird practices and rituals or you’re being questioned for using a lot of gloves and other things you needed in caregiving . That’s the worst that you’re protecting the patient’s health by using gloves but what I got was being questioned why are you using gloves all the time. Sometimes innocence of the health protocols leads to crazy people thought I was wasting their gloves. In fact I used a lot of my gloves for three days before they supplied their gloves. Caregivers please be aware that some employers are taking advantage of our services. Please be aware of the California Domestic Workers Bill Of Rights rate. You must have a lawyer and please know your rights. If not let them take care of their patients.

These guys, take $50 per month for which you get the pleasure of then paying any caregiver that shows up. I suspect there may be good caregivers there, but we unfortunately didn't find one to fit the bill....and we forgot to cancel, so the bills just kept being paid for months and months till we noticed them. We tried to cancel on renewal day but they refused to refund....as per their terms & conditions. Lesson learned; don't forget to cancel.

If there is an option for ZERO star, care.com totally deserves it. Such a scam!! It only cares to rip off your money without your consent. It requests you to pay one month of membership to view one profile, while secretly starting to charge you EVERY MONTH after until you realized something went wrong. Then more than a thousand of bucks got charged for that one view, and there is not even a way to talk to them about it. NO costumer service or contact number or whatsoever. If you try to dispute from your credit card company, it shamelessly refuses to pay back even one month of fee. This company only exists to steal! Protect your money and STAY AWAY!!

Would rather give 0 I signed up with these people for child care and the charges are absolutely absurd for 3 months so a desperate for service I didn't mind but it soon became clear to be Scam as anyone I contact isn't available as those people have already long term contracts with parents. And so I keep trying 3 months passed with no results and before I could cancel them again they took another fee for service they don't offer when asked for refund they point blank said no refund policy which is designed to Scam people. I am very disappointed and would never again sign for any service with child care providers. They should be investigated deeply

I keep trying to sign up so I can babysit on the side. Every time I'm ALMOST done with creating an account, I get a message my account has been frozen due to some sketch activity. I HAVEN'T EVEN COMPLETED THE SIGN UP. I keep reaching out to customer service and have yet to receive a response. It's been at least 6 months now, with multiple requests sent. In response to the company's response to my review: I've put in MULTIPLE requests to try to get a hold of you guys for the last 6 months!! No response. I also don't have FB and what an unprofessional way to have customer get a hold of you. Absolute TRASH company. Another update: about a week after Care.com saw my negative review, they sent me an email in regards to the review, not the numerous requests I sent regarding my account being locked. They only are concerned with their outward appearance, not their actual service. Disgusting. Third Update: After another few days, I FINALLY got a response regarding my account being blocked before finishing setup. Their response, "I have reviewed your account and I can confirm that your account was closed because you do not meet our guidelines for member eligibility." Zero details or explanation. Also, how could I not meet guidelines, especially before my account was even finished being setup?!!?! Extremely dishonest company with horrible business practices.

If you wanna lose out on your money go ahead. They closed my account after YEARS for the dumbest reason! I had sooo many good reviews but somehow I wasnt good enough for them?? Screw em!

This website is nothing but a scam. You have to have a premium subscription to even contact customer service, and even then, it's their message center, no number. I canceled my subscription, only to find I was STILL being charged quarterly. I tried to contact customer service for OVER AN HOUR before I found a help number on REDDIT, of all places. The Reddit user said they only had the number because they used to work for them. I was told by customer service that I was basically SOL, and no refund would be issued, even though I had not used the service in over six months. The service was mediocre at best, the one time I did use it. Reviews for babysitters are not posted in a timely matter, which is concerning. It's scary to think our loved ones are in the care of people we have no updated information on. Everything on Care.com is misleading and comes at an extra cost. I would never recommend this service to ANYONE. Edited to add: They didn't even bother to spell my name correctly in their response to my review 😂 I can't with this. It just gets worse.

If it were possible to give less than one star I would. I reached out twice for 2 different situations and never even had the courtesy of a reply, even though he supposed caretakers, or house cleaners said they would get back within a day. I paid to join, upgraded the service and get nothing. Beware! This must be a hoax or scam company. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone as most of the reviews are really bad with the same issues as I have had. Care.com should be ashamed and I am not sure how the BBB has not caught up with them yet!
