your service is a total scam. You present that the caregivers have completed background checks, then charge for those background checks. You dont tell customers that you have to prepay for the services before the work is done, and that the customer doesn't get to interview or screen the selected caregivers before you charge my credit card. Then you post all over the website several times that you bear no responsibility for the caregivers. So you're a broker? Total scam.

Terrible service, both sides - looking for staff and people looking for jobs. Only positive reviews are from the USA.

I've been getting the runaround from Care.com for several days now about a "new policy" they have essentially not allowing people with feeding tubes to use the site but they haven't updated their terms of service to reflect that and are refusing to refund me despite now having a policy that prohibits me from using their service. I signed up for a 3 month plan after reviewing their terms of service and not seeing anything banning feeding tubes, posted an ad (stating it was for a child with a feeding tube), and the ad was approved and active for several weeks. It expired but when I went to repost it it was rejected. I chatted with a representative who quoted a policy that states Care.com does not allow for "medical care" things like feeding tubes, trachs, IVs, etc. and my previous ad had been accidentally approved. They refused to refund my money even though I can't use their service because they have a "no refunds" policy although this clearly should be an exception. I found out later after chatting with another representative that this is a "new policy" and so their terms of service and guidelines have not been updated with this information yet! So I had no way of knowing when I signed up that I couldn't use their service. Their reps are also giving me contradictory statements, one claimed that although you can't say "feeding tube" in the posting you can message those details to a caregiver privately. How does that make any sense? I want to be upfront with the caregivers so I don't waste my time with people who are not wanting to learn how to care for someone with a feeding tube. Not to mention I don't appreciate being told to lie in my ad as a workaround for their own policy. They are now telling me they are escalating my case to supervisors but so far after 3 chats and an email inquiry nobody is responding back to me. I see on their Trust Pilot reviews that we're not the only feeding tube family going through this with them right now. It is deplorable to change a policy without updating your posted terms of service and then deny refunds to those no longer able to use your site. The fact that the families affected are special needs families makes this particularly disgusting. I will continue to pursue my refund and escalate the issue. I hope with this review no more special needs families will unknowingly waste their money on this business. Update: I received a response and a refund from Care.com after filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I hope they will update their guidelines to reflect their new policy of not allowing feeding tubes immediately so other special needs families don't unknowingly purchase a subscription they can't use. I also hope they start issuing refunds to affected families without all the unnecessary hassle that I encountered.

The "book now" feature is a hot mess that doesn't work, and the way that the jobs feature communicates with providers is confusing and makes no sense to anyone. It's intrusive and makes communication with providers--ostensibly the entire point of this site--difficult, awkward, and confusing. I will be using it as little as possible in future and telling people I know to stay away.

Care.Com is shady and misleading! I'm a parent who reached out to a particular babysitter to request her services. In the next few days, I receive messages from multiple sitters, letting me know they are available to babysit. When I click on the message thread, Care.Com made it look like I reached out to them with a personalized message that read, "I need a sitter and was wondering if you're available to help me." I never sent messages to any of those sitters. It's really violating because my name and photo are on the account and it looks like I sent personal messages to a bunch of people when I did not!

They were charging me monthly $39 and they make it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription. There is no # located on the site (on purpose) and when I did find a number they told me they couldn't find the charges even though my bank confirmed it was coming from Care.com and the last time they charged me was two weeks prior. Basically they were telling me I can never cancel my subscription because they couldnt locate it.

Horrible company!! The caregivers never respond to your messages and I’m assuming it’s because they are no longer even active or available. There is no person that you can even contact on Care.com to discuss your issues. And most of all they charged me $155 for an annual subscription that I never agreed to and they will not give me a refund. Terrible company and terrible customer service. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well

If I could leave zero stars I would. This company does not care about anything other than making itself money. They will take money from you, never give you a refund, then also not help you!! I’ve had help Chat agents just close the chat box mid-conversation. Also extremely unhelpful emails that essentially led to nothing. I’ve had to reach out multiple times JUST to get my account deleted and honestly don’t even think it will.
