As a professional caregiver...I have used care.com for a few years. I've completed their surveys..given them feedback to no avail. I've tried to fix the distance I am willing to commute...informed them as well. I still get leads for 35 to 45 miles away. My limit is 25 miles. The platforms are hard to use and I'm very technically competent... I'd hazard to guess that those looking for eldercare find it even more difficult to navigate.

Truly abismal. The send message button didn't work. You can't even link your own job posting in a message. You cant tell if you've messaged someone before. You have to start an entirely new job posting when you go look for caregivers. which you have to do because even though I paid extra to boost my listing ive gotten 3, pretty terrible, applicants in 3 weeks. everything is an upsell for a product that is truly terrible. and their service is worse. they promised me an urgent call back and no one ever called. SOMEONE VIBECODE SOMETHING BETTER, this shouldn't be very hard.

I would ike to express my concern about this pretty useless service. It is a paying service, to find house help, nanies, care for the elderly or for pets and other services. Mostly trusted services like for in your house, with your children and pets as well as care for the elderly. However when there is an Issue, no one to be found at Care. They simply do not answer. So all that works is the automated payment for your monthly subscription.... A few exemples : more than half of the profiles, are no longer part of Care.com Then there is a large part that have no back ground checks. For what that is worth, but Care makes publicity that all their proposed staff have back ground checks. Further of the remaining part, most profiles just do not answre, so in short, you are paying a monthly fee, but care does not really propose anything you can use. It looks a lot like a real SCAM !

I was looking for someone to help my elderly and disabled parents and found this website, which promises to match you with people offering household support. I was not told when I signed up that I'd have to pay. I received one message ok, then after that I was required to take out a paid subscription in order to receive further messages. I was bombarded with emails several times a day. I logged on to close my account, and immediately having done so received the following email (direct quote!): We appreciate your interest in Care.com; however, we are unable to continue your membership at this time. Effective today, your Care.com account is closed. Reason for closure: In accordance with our Terms of Use, Care.com has the right to terminate member accounts for any reason or no reason, with or without notice, including when a member no longer meets our eligibility criteria, violates our Terms of Use or Content Policy, or is not suitable for participation in our community. Please review our Terms and Content Policy for more information. I'm pretty furious!! This site is taking advantage of people who need help. It could have been my 87 year old mother in this situation and she would not have known what to do. Disgusted.

You'll go in circles trying to cancel. Meanwhile, they'll keep charging you. Also, the cleaner I hired stole my loose change.

I have used the service in the past and got one of two jobs. Now I haven’t gotten any responses after paying for upgrades and background checks. I asked for a refund. They said they don’t do that. I will not be using the service again.

I signed up for one month to see if I could find a carer. After that month they basically went AWOL never emailing me or trying to help me find someone. And it has occurred to me now that the reason they don’t email, not even marketing emails, is because they hope you won’t notice the $50/mo they keep taking from your payment method. Smells like a scam to me.

As the owner of a local preschool, I was approached by care.com to advertise on their site. The sign-on fee for their "Marketing Solutions platform" is $200 and a monthly fee of $300 is then charged. Since my school is in it's first year, our budget is tight and I'm not taking a paycheck yet. I said no thanks, maybe in the future. They reached back out to invite me to use their "Programs and Activities" platform for my summer camps. This is only $50 monthly, so I said yes! I sent them a copy of my summer brochure and was then denied use of their site, because I would "benefit more from the Marketing Solutions platform." They are obviously trying to squeeze more money out of me. They've lost a potential costumer.
