There is no explanation of how this works before paying. I signed up and I couldnt do anything on my account until I payed. I payed the annual membership and I immediately had issues logging in. I tried different browsers and could log in some different browsers. It was then forcing me to download the app and now I cannot navigate my account at all. I did manage to send a message to help center only to recieve a generic reply and they resolved my issue before replying the next day. Now I cannit click back on the contact, the button is not working. There is no other way to contact them. I can log in but it stops me after I try to navigate the menu and forces an app page on me. There is nothing else I can do. I also did not know that I had to do a check with a ssn. I also had no idea there is no return policy. What? I should get my money back. Really. There are too many problems with this company. I also wish I read the comments before giving them free money.

I signed up as a tutor on this website, and I got almost zero response. They charged me a $20.44 fee for a background check, which is fine. But now it's a year later and they charged me that fee again. Apparently it's some recurring subscription, which they did not at all make clear, because if they had I would never have given out my card information. They also did not send a reminder email about this fee, like every honest business that I interact with does. When I tried to reach out to Care.com I got disconnected from the chat, then typed out an entire email only to find there was no way to submit it, and then waited over 30 minutes to be reconnected in the chat, only to be told there is no refund for a service that I don't want and didn't sign up for. I am sick to death of these big companies making their money with these dishonest practices. I would NEVER treat a customer like that.

Horrible when you actually need help. Was charged through Apple for background checks and monthly subscription. However, they claim no charge went through on their end. I now have no access to request a background check on the many caregivers I need to sort through. Don't waste your time or money, use facebook groups and pay for your own (much cheaper!) background checks.

Wish I had read the reviews before using care.com. I signed up for a month as i needed a temp housekeeper for 2 months. Just noticed that they have been taking money from y account for SIX MONTHS ! They have refused to refund me even though they can see I have not used the account in the last 5 months. Also when i did us the account it was pretty useless. Nobody suitable applied. PS: YOUR RESPONSE BELOW SHOWS YOUR INSINCERITY - i did contact you and you refused to refund !!! Im not alone in my opinions about your company - its obviously NOT CLEAR that you keep on taking money month after month even though i only signed up for 1 month.....

I used care.com to find caregiver for my spouse last August. Fortunately my wife recovered from her sickness in December of 2023. I let caregiver go by end of December and canceled subscription for care.com. On July 27, 2024 I saw subscription renewal charge on my credit card. Care.com representative refused to refund the charge. I disputed the charge with credit card company. I want to let other people know of their business practices.

I have been finding work with care.com for over ten years. I appreciated the site as it helped me find wonderful families to work for. I specialized in Alzheimer/dementia seniors. And then this happened. I was to start on a job next day. I got an email from family member asking me to reduce my rate again. I had already reduced it at interview. She then told me my hours would be 26 hours. I applied to a 40 hour week job. And then switched weekend days from Sunday to Saturdays. This has never happened to me before. I had a 5 star rating. Always 5 stars. When i told family member i could not service the family ( i had that feeling that they were bullying me and this job would continue to be difficult) the family member then posted a 2 star review of me. Right there on top of all my 5 star reviews. A long review listing all lies. Family member then changed her job posting to match 30 hours and new weekend requirements. My career over. Care.com will do nothing for me. Nothing. The review remains there. I have zero recourse. I’m still stunned. I will move on but obviously care.com is more concerned about a paying customer than a hard working caregiver.

Do not be fooled!!! They are a complete scam, they will send you emails to make you believe you have child care messages, these can only be viewed with payment, once paid there are no messages just people's bio they think your interested in! Refuse to refund with rude customer service!

Care should be more careful of choosing workers that uphold their integrity. I posted a house keeping work for about one week, 6 applicants responded. However, not one, but two applicants agreed to come initially but decided not to show up, causing delay to my housekeeping. They should be banned from working here.
