Don't do it
OK, so they offered 7600 online, took the car in, offer dropped to 1900. After some back a forth went to eventually 5K. Then got paid, 4801. They deducted an inspection fee. I'll never sell to them again.

I received an online offer of about $18,500 from Car Buyer USA for my vehicle. After visiting a couple of car dealers and getting cash offers from various sites like CarMax and Cars.com, Car Buyer USA’s offer was the highest I received. I discussed this offer over the phone with a Car Buyer USA customer service rep, and after I described the minor issues with the car (small scratches, paint chips, and a crack in the windshield) and provided pictures of the car, he assured me that I would receive an offer very close to $18,500 after their inspection. For the inspection, I had to drop off the car at an auto auction lot, which was somewhat disconcerting, and remove its license plates. This means I had to pay for an Uber back to my house. One day later, Car Buyer USA provided me with a report listing about $500 worth of repairable damage to the car. They used this report to justify dropping their offer by about $1,200 to $17,300. This didn’t make any sense to me. They offered to increase their offer to $17,500, but this still put it below the next highest offer I received. As a result, I had to decline Car Buyer USA’s offer and pay for another Uber back to the auto auction lot to pick up my car. Car Buyer USA stated that they would reimburse me for the first Uber trip, but I’m not sure that they actually will. Overall, I wasted about 2.5 hours of my time and about $50 on Uber rides, because Car Buyer USA misled me with their initial offer. If they had initially given me something closer to their final offer, I could have avoided all of this. If you receive an online offer from Car Buyer USA, just be aware that the number may be inflated to lure you in. I can’t say that my experience was entirely negative. Car Buyer USA’s final offer was higher than the vast majority of other offers I received, and their communication was good overall. But their scheme of artificially inflating their initial offer to lure me in just left a bad taste in my mouth, so I can’t recommend them.

They called me to make an offer on my 2009 Honda accord. Their offer was higher then carmax, autonation and carvana. They asked me to send many pictures and confirmed their offer as long as no problems were found by their inspector. They scheduled their 3rd party inspector to come to my house to view the car. The inspector gave the car a great review (low milage, always been garaged, top notch interior and exterior condition). After the inspection they called to lower their offer. They (Brian) said the inspection went very well but based on resale "market conditions" they had to lower their offer by $750 from their initial confirmed offer of $9500. In short, it appears that they hook you with an overly high offer and then reduce what they are willing to pay once they check to see how much they can resell it for (all with in a 2-3 day period.) Do yourself a favor and check all the more legitimate companies including autonation, carvana. Check out the many many reviews with similar or worse stories.

Hello all, I wanted to express my disappointment with the experience overall at Car Buyer USA. The inspector was wrong to label the body of the car “moderately damaged”. The dings and chips were over exaggerated and would have cost around $100 to fix them. I have the paint to match, for those things, which is EXACTLY what these guys will use. They said I had stains on the seat. Had the inspector taken the time to apply a damp towel, it would have come out. These “stains’ are from when I drove to and from Arizona. Dust and sweat is all it was. That would have cost me $125 for a deep interior clean, or a bottle of Dawn soap and water. It was my fault to not have cleaned it first but your inspector said it is preferred to leave it how it is. This is to not appear like you’re trying to hide something. The skid plate was damaged and I did not know about. My daughter (primary driver) confessed to driving it when it came off and not telling me. One of her friends used zip ties to put it back on. That would have cost me about $300-$500 to fix. These guys dinged me $1170 from the original quote. I was open about the driver and passenger doors being nicked. I had many people look at this car and all of them pointed out the seats and a few nicks but they knew, those issues were nothing to worry about. Now, if I had sold it to one of them and they noticed the skid plate issue. I would have gladly paid for it. I still would have made more than what they gave me. Its a 2018 used car. Most of the exterior damage, which was very little, is from wear and tear. In there initial online evaluation you say normal “wear and tear” does not need to be listed. Why are they dinging me for it then? I sent pictures of every angle, did not leave out what I considered damaged. Still screwed me. I only sold to them because I did not want to sell as is, so I would have had to replace the skid plate and I was not up for it. I had no problem with knocking off $600-700, because I honestly did not know about the skid plate. I had to plead with them to get from $16,500 to $16,600. There was no reason to take as much off, as they did. Then, to make things even worse. I did not get a call from anyone until 6pm 4 days later. At that point, they said they would be arriving between 8-9pm. Why so late? Anyways, I was okay because I just wanted the process over. Around 6pm, I get a text saying they would be delayed until 9-10pm. He got here close to 10pm, if not at 10pm. I asked to delay until the next day because who the hell wants to deal with all this at 10pm. He said “I have to be in GA tomorrow, please let me come tonite.” What in the hell am I supposed to say? No? There I was standing in the rain at 10pm, waiting for him to take all of his pictures. He was done around 11pm. I left to go back in my house about 20 min before he left. He was very polite and apologetic, I will say that. Also, I got paid a day before they picked up the car, which was nice.
