CAPONUTRITIONFood is more than just calories and macronutrients. It is one of the highest socio-cultural moments in our lives. Because of the hectic work schedule and other obligations, we forget about it, and we end up eating because we must, not because we love it. A dish tells us a story, and we are committed to emphasize it, promoting a healthy relationship with performance nutrition. At CAPONUTRITION, we only work with athletes, from professionals to amateur and recreational. We firmly believe that sport is an essential piece of a puzzle called well-being. Wether you train for a Sunday ride in Malibu with your friends or for the UFC belt, you are an athlete. Carbohydrates are crucial to fuel performance and recovery is as important as training. Pasta with pesto, when used in the right context, never made anyone gaining weight. Ask Marvin Vettori, who is currently ranked #2 in the UFC middleweight division and holds a record for most significant strikes and most takedowns at 185 lb!Our goal is helping a selected number of athletes who want to optimize their body composition, recovery, and overall performance though evidence-based coaching.

Matteo handled my nutrition for this entire 8 week fight camp and adjusted everything as we went to keep me performing at my best. I had the most energy I’ve ever had throughout a camp, and fight week was smoother than any I’ve experienced. The whole camp I felt bulletproof, and on fight night my body felt the best it ever has. Matteo is the best at what he does, and we’ll be working together every fight moving forward.

I have had the pleasure of watching Matteo work in person and up close with his athletes, he is an excellent example of how to blend cutting-edge knowledge and the ability to create a strong relationship with his clients. He has been available at all times with me as he has been with all of his clients, no matter the magnitude.

Sometimes I get way too caught up in the minor details and Matteo has helped me improve my body composition while still enjoying the wonderful Italian foods that I like to enjoy. I've also shared my bloodwork and certain markers that I need to focus on and Matteo has provided me with personal recommendations to optimize those levels.

I had the pleasure of working with Matteo Capodaglio as a mentor during my process of moving and living in the United States, specifically in California. As an Italian nutritionist, his experience, professionalism and passion for the sector have been fundamental to my professional development. He helped me perfect my skills in performance nutrition for athletes, with a focus on combat sports. He is a valid professional, who despite having a lot to give, never expects anything in return. In addition to being a mentor, Matteo has become a great friend: he is a kind, honest, open to listening and respectful person, with a critical view, but also flexible on work and non-work situations. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for professional and human guidance.

It’s very rare to find someone with knowledge and charisma that Doctor Matteo has. It’s already easy for me to follow someone who I know is qualified, but it’s even easier to follow instructions from someone who you can tell truly cares about you as a person and the quality of your performance. He truly is part of your team and is not just with you to claim recognition from your victories, but takes it upon himself to see how he could’ve done a better job even if you fall short even if he did his job perfectly. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to optimize their approach to nutrition for any goal.

My journey with Caponutrition has been amazing. Matteo is working at the highest level of human nutrition. His knowledge, personalized approach, and reliable support have redefined my perception of being on a diet. What sets Matteo apart is not just his expertise but also his ability to make the entire process enjoyable. For the first time, I've found myself embracing and even loving the idea of being on a diet. His strategies are not only effective but also sustainable, making the entire journey a rewarding experience. Matteo goes beyond the conventional norms of diet coaching; he genuinely understands individual needs and tailors plans that align with both health goals and personal preferences. I wholeheartedly recommend Caponutrition to anyone seeking not just a diet plan but a holistic and enjoyable approach to a healthier lifestyle.

I worked with Dr. Capodaglio when, despite a highly demanding job as a derivatives trader, I was competing actively in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so I had to conciliate 50 hrs work weeks and 10-15 hrs of training and conditioning weekly. Dr. Capodaglio help me fuel this lifestyle with nutritious but tasty food choices, minimizing the time required to prep/cook, and also with proper protocols for hydration and meal timing to maximize athletic performance, and also advice to how to minimize the negative effects of the occasional “cheat”, such as work dinners when I of course… indulged in some wine.

Working with Capo has been nothing less than a blessing to my athletic career! He adapts to my constantly changing needs, easy to get a hold of no matter where I am in the world, genuinely cares about my progress, listens and is VERY good at what he does! Exceeded my expectations and don’t see myself not working with him!
