Cane Creek claims high quality bike components but my expensive Cane Creek eesilk seat post fell apart after only a couple thousand kilometers of use.
Durability is a weak point on Cane Creek eeSilk suspension posts. Apparently on the factory blue lock tite applied fasteners your supposed to "re-tighten them" regularly.
I wish I had known about the high maintenance requirements before buying this poor value upgrade.
FYI Cane Creek.....thread locker applied fasteners are not supposed to be "re tightened".
Maybe use red locktite or a better than locktite blue solution to a bad design that naturally undoes itself.
Lots of posts online about the same eeSilk fastener as mine falling out.
I was a couple of months out of warranty and no mercy from the customer support staff.
Now I am told to buy a maintenance kit for this expensive paperweight to fix it already with little use.

Misleading product description
After recently purchasing a hellbender 70 visco lower headset for my ebike, I immediately started having issues with the headset coming loose due to the dampening plates compressing, which is dangerous. As it turns out, this head set is only designed for on road use only and should not be used on any type of mountain or gravel bike. When I spoke with Cane Creek's customer service about this, their comment was the description infers this. Too bad the LBS I use who specialized in MTB didn't catch this either.
Below is a direct quote from the manufactures website. Bottom line don't waste you time or money on this product. I set $200 on fire between the product plus labor to install and remove. Cane Creeks answer....to bad so sad.
"Hellbender 70 Visco is a patented steering stabilizer headset designed to make bicycles safer and easier to control by inhibiting the high frequency steering oscillation known as speed wobble. It also makes the handling of heavily loaded bikes more stable and predictable. Stabilization is provided by a stack of damping plates built into the headset, separated by a viscous carbon gel, that helps riders maintain control, reduce fatigue and ride with confidence.
Great for e-bikes, cargo bikes, loaded touring, and commuting."

I'm fortunate to own two eeWings cranksets...
Living on the South Island of NZ, I'm fortunate to own two of Cane Creek's eeWings cranks and I recently needed to chase down a couple of the Ti fixing bolts that anchor the chainring the crank. I sent a query to Cane Creek Customer Support via my account on their website and got a very prompt response from Andy Bennett, a company representative. It was the first of three messages required to resolve the issue and the experience was top-notch.
Cane Creek's customer support is exemplary, and Andy was the face of the company for the less than 24 hours it took to work things out. The eeWings crank is beautiful to behold aesthetically and amazing to hold in the hand, as at a little over 400 grams it epitomizes what makes Ti the material of choice for a component that handles load and transfers energy efficiently while routinely taking hard hits in rocky terrain. It's indestructible...a forever metal.
Based on my recent experience with Andy Bennett, the people at C.C. exhibit some of the same qualities as the eeWings crank: dependable, performance-driven, and measurably better where it counts: efficiently turning work - energy expended - into forward motion with an objectively measurable results.
In short, Cane Creek is an exceptional company in an industry where the standards for high-end components are already extremely high. Have a look at their website, it's probably the best in the business from a presentation standpoint, and the company's products are absolutely first-rate in a very evolved and competitive market. Nobody out there is doing it better. These people are totally on top of their game.
In the gladiatorial arena of high-performance bicycle components, Cane Creek is the real deal and importantly, the company's customer support crew backs that up with the same high standards in my opinion. It doesn't get any better than this, people. Visit their website and check out what they are into, or give them a call. You'll see what I mean.
