Concerns with Quality, Timeliness, and Additional Costs
I contracted with Cambridge Publishing House for publishing services for my devotional book and paid $399 under the original agreement.
Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. I encountered concerns regarding the quality of the formatted manuscript, the timeliness of the publishing process, and additional payment offers to move forward with services I understood to be part of the original arrangement.
Although I submitted detailed manuscript corrections and attempted to move the project forward, I ultimately lost confidence in the process and requested termination of the publishing relationship.
I encourage other authors to carefully review their agreements, clarify exactly which publishing services are included, and obtain written confirmation of any additional costs before making payments.

Childish & unprofessional
In late April of this year, I looked for promotional help for my book, “Forbidden Cosmology, CCEEC.” At the time, Cambridge Publishing House had strong Trustpilot reviews. I felt optimistic working with the company and agreed to a 2-month marketing trial. Everything seemed fine until after I mailed in funds. I received a detailed marketing plan, but for two weeks I heard nothing beyond small talk and AI-generated “gobbledygook.”
I complained about it. So we restarted the clock. What concerned me was the lack of transparency and the limited visibility into the operation. I was ready to jump in with helpful hints about my goals, to no avail. Three weeks of “radio silence” again. I emailed: “Why don’t you inform me what you are doing?” More excuses followed.
I knew promotions take some time to show results.
I saw some movement in Amazon.com reviews, and on others. However, I still couldn’t say for sure whether the company was doing this or whether my own marketing was responsible. I felt like we were mostly talking past each other.
After 2.5 months of slow engagement, they completely ghosted me. What is more, one day after I published my critique here, my book’s 4/5-star rating on a popular reading app dropped 27 points, from 66 to 39.
You be the judge. I think it's unfair to kick struggling authors to the curb after they paid $100s for a service. I can only describe this company as childish and unprofessional. Avoid.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, we would like to clarify a few important points for the sake of transparency and fairness.
The agreed campaign focused on book promotion and review outreach. The work was carried out through community-based outreach, with the intention of respecting applicable platform guidelines. As this type of engagement takes time, fulfillment was not always immediate. To compensate for the delay and as a gesture of goodwill, we also worked on additional 60+ Goodreads reviews beyond the original commitment.
As a service provider, we believe in doing things the right way rather than taking shortcuts that could put an author's book or publishing account at risk. We do not believe in misleading practices or methods that could jeopardize an author's KDP account. We would rather be transparent about what a campaign can achieve than make guarantees that no ethical service provider can confidently uphold.
It is also important to distinguish between delivering promotional services and guaranteeing commercial results. Our commitment was to carry out the agreed promotional work, not to guarantee that readers would purchase the book, leave reviews, or maintain a particular rating. Those outcomes depend on individual readers and the relevant platforms.
Regarding the reported drop in your book's rating, we understand your concern. However, the timing of that change alone does not establish that it was caused by our campaign. We cannot reasonably accept responsibility for a change without evidence connecting it to our work.
We take client feedback seriously and are willing to view this review as an opportunity to evaluate and improve our communication. At the same time, a fair assessment should acknowledge the work delivered, the additional Goodreads support provided as a goodwill gesture, and the distinction between promotional efforts and outcomes outside our control.
We remain committed to transparent service, responsible promotion, and protecting the long-term interests of the authors who trust us with their work.

Scam artists from the word go
Scam artists from the word go. This is virtual company that does not have offices in Canada or New York. I visited their office in Toronto. They are unknown there and the office was a workspace others rent. Just some desks in a room. They told me they had a hundred people in Toronto. They do not know publishing and literally messed up everything they sent me and failed to deliver any of their promises. He told me he was in Toronto. When I told him I was at his office he admitted he was in New York. He gave me an address but could not tell me the common name of the street where their building was The only thing they do with great expertise is lie. About anything and everything. Do not go near these people. Everything is professionally done. The phone numbers, the business registrations etc.....all set up to make you believe you are speaking to someone near you but they do not exist in North America....except virtually. Stay away, stay away, stay away. Cheaters, liars and con artists. Don't pay up front. Pay by credit card with fraud protection. This is very common and convincing and the banks are aware. It won't take them long to get your money back. Better still. Do your home work and ask a lot of questions. If it's too good to be true then it isn't. They are very inexpensive but where they come from must be a lot of money to them because the list of services they provide are extensive and makes you wonder how can they do all that for such a small price. They can't and they won't. They use AI for everything and it shows up in the inconsistencies. Stay away, stay away, stay away.
