Even though we had a pre‑booked table, we were left standing far too long before being seated. It then took around half an hour for our meal to arrive, only to be told later that we had another half an hour to finish because the next party was due. The drinking glasses looked dirty (maybe just the design, but not reassuring), the pizza crust was burnt, and the noise level was unbearable. Another guest couldn't finish their battered fish because of the hard crusted batter, For the bill being over £300, this wasn’t an enjoyable meal — it felt rushed, stressful, and more like an ordeal than a night out. I'll NOT BE BACK.

Took my visitors who were in Gourock from Istanbul, Turkey to Cafe Continental, I have been lots of times , view was fabulous, menu was rather limited. Food less than mediocre, five meals, two came first then a wait for a third, and some time later other two. Fish and chips, fish was tasteless, some of chips lukewarm little bit of lettuce and small pieces of red onion, I was not impressed, I have no idea what my visitors though. I understand it’s under new management, well I thought new management improved things, not in this case, it was always a pleasure to go there but not any more and I certainly will be giving it a miss in the future

Don't think I'll darken this door step again. Went out for dinner to celebrate good news from a doctor's appointment. The waitress was completely indifferent. No smile, no greeting, just "what do you want to eat". The food was OK although the onion rings were burnt. There was no "goodbye" or "thank you" for coming, in future we will go along the road to the Indian, always polite and please to get custom.
