An absolute nightmare
Last month I purchased the K.O. Barber chair from Buy Rite Beauty. I was convinced I was making the right decision as reviews were positive. I received the chair on a pallet. The base was fully assembled. All I had to do was screw on the foot rest and back rest. I noticed the chair itself was crooked from the base. The chair also only spins if you have your foot on the pedal (this was not in the description when I purchased.) However even with my foot on the pedal, the chair is hard to turn and gets stuck. The worst part about this chair is that the headrest doesn’t lock into place. Slight pressure, even just tilting your head back, will push the headrest into the seat. I do neck shaves, this is ridiculously dangerous. I reached out to Buy Rite’s customer service a day after I received the chair. For a month now, I have gone back and forth with them on parts they believe will fix the broken chair they sent me. Yes, you have to fix the chair yourself, even if it is “new” but sent to you broken and practically unusable. I had a maintenance company come in and try to fix it, they truly believed it needed new hydraulics, naturally Buy Rite disagrees. I decided to try to just do a refund, however, when you do a refund, you pay for shipping, which is practically half the price of the chair. For the last two weeks, we have gone back and forth on getting a “ticket made” for a return. For the last two days I have not received a response. I now believe I am out of luck. If you don’t want to cut someone’s neck open while shaving, have them fall off the chair, or mess up your back trying to service them, then I suppose this chair isn’t for you. I am an independent men’s hairstylist. I have spent over $1000 to get this chair. That $1000 is no small price for me, but something Buy Rite Beauty cares little about. If you are independent, or just a professional in general, I beg you to avoid this company at all costs. You deserve peace of mind when mastering your trade, not stressing over a chair that could cost you thousands in lawsuit fees.
