Burial Link was a big help , but...
Burial Link was a big help but their escrow service is a little expensive, so we just did it ourselves. There is a certain amount of trust you need to transfer the plots without this service and fortunately all went well. Our plots sold in about 4 months for about 80% of the listing price. We were SHOCKED that the mortuary (Rose Hills) charged us an additional $1,650 PER PLOT for perpetual care, which I paid when we first bought the plots 40 years ago. We debated this amount, even when they said we had only paid $500 when we first bought the plots. I said that was for PERPETUAL CARE and $500 back then was a lot of money and should take care of it. Well, factor all that in. They said that whenever you sell, you must pay additional for this care. So, check everything at the cemetery when you sell. Transfer fees were also $400. Burial Link needs to have someone LIVE to contact. Even the chat did not work. Other than that, we probably could not have sold it without Burial Link. Norm
