Please note that BrainsMate does not charge recurring subscription fees or auto-renewals. We only charge a one-time fee for the selected service. It is very likely that this €40 charge was made by an external platform or an unrelated service. FRUAD & SCAM!!
This is a big big fraud & scam site. It said only to pay £1 to receive results but somehow put me in a £39.99 subscription that I am trying to cancel and fighting to receive a refund. DO NOT GO AHEAD AS ITS A SCAM!!!

They make you pay a small fee for your…
They make you pay a small fee for your test result, but subscribe you to a monthly service which is easily overlooked for£39.99. Beware fraudsters. If ask for refund they first tel you that its nit possible, but if you persistent they offer you 75% of your money. Also the replys look like copy and paste. Makes you think that this miss selling is their whole busines model.

This website is a scam !
I’m seriously pissed off. I paid about $1 just to get an IQ test result, then a week later BrainsMate charged me $39.99 on 22 September 2026. I never signed up for a $39.99 subscription. There was no clear warning to me that this small payment would turn into a much bigger recurring charge. I’ve contacted support over and over and keep getting the same useless, repetitive responses instead of an actual refund. This genuinely feels like a hidden subscription scam: lure people in with a tiny payment, then take a much larger amount later when they’re not expecting it. I had to freeze my card and contact my bank because of this. Avoid this website they are scammers!

$1 turned into $71 - Sorry?!
Paid $1 USD for what I understood to be a one-off IQ test, then had $71 NZD taken from my account a week later. I specifically checked that I wasn't signing up to a subscription and there was no membership showing in my account, nor on the confirmation email. Not impressed and currently trying to get my money back. UPDATE 24/01/26: Recieved an email, despite them not displaying anything regarding a free trial etc at payment stage, nor confirmation email stage, nor showed a trial in my account account when I did the test on 16 Septmebe, It looks like due to the amount of people like myself who have been scammed by this company, NOW they have added a checkbox at checkout and a clause stating you are joining a 7-day trial… This is actually horrendous and I feel sorry for anyone else who has been sucked into this.

Paid for IQ test 1£
Paid for IQ test 1£. Surprisingly after one week being charged 39.99£ for a weekly subscription. Seems like I didn't read the terms carefully enough. However, the payment process is designed to be counterintuitive. When I reached out to customer service and explained that I didn't even visit their site at all during this week, as I only needed the test, they just said sorry and that they couldn't do anything.
