The custom made leather brace my doctor ordered was cumbersome and would not fit in any of my shoes, even those that I could actually remove the insole from... so I rarely used it and just dealt with ankle pain, inflammation and stiffness on a daily basis. When I saw a very timely advertisement on the View for BraceLab braces just prior to a major trip that would require me to constantly be on my feet, I immediately checked out the website. The pain/inflammation in my ankle due to old breaks and sprains (now arthritis) was a major concern for several weeks of constant walking and climbing. I ordered/received the pushlab brace shortly before my trip. It was a total lifesaver! I wore it all day every day I was on my feet a great deal - it eliminated all inflammation while wearing it and therefore the resulting pain. It fit easily into all of my shoes/sandals and did not cause additional stiffness or immobility - it was actually quite comfortable. For the most part, I forgot I was wearing it. (the additional support also gave me the confidence to go down multiple flights of stairs without the timidity I experienced when not wearing the brace... wondering if my ankle might give out). Because the inflammation is contained completely while wearing the brace, I also don't experience any of the residual pain at rest after removing it. I can take it off and walk around normally, wear dress shoes without the brace if I wish etc. even after being on my feet all day long. I continue to wear it on a regular basis as needed. It really works and may possibly even prolong/prevent the need for ankle surgery. Machine washable, it's also quite easy to wrap and go, fold and throw in a small bag to have with you as needed anywhere. I can't recommend this product enough!
