The hand specialist recommended this to me while they were working on a different issue with my hand. After years of basketball, volleyball, mountain biking, skiing (pole plants), dirt biking and typing for work my thumbs are shot. They are in constant pain - never ending. When I saw this brace I thought...seems expensive for what it is ...something I could probably fashion myself with some leather and velcro. Well, it works. It wasn't an immediate result but after about 5 actual uae days I could tell it helped. My skeptical self just bought one for the left hand as that thumb hurt most. Now my right thumb hurts more. You have to wear it - a lot. It's distracting but not super hindering even while typing all day for work. Initially I took it off a bunch to do some things and forget to put it back on. But if you commit to wearing it as much as possible...it did help me.
