Boot.dev made enjoy programming again. I used to program around 10 years ago while at university, but I gave it up for a long time. Boot.dev was advertised by a YouTuber I enjoy watching, so I decided to give it a go and I had a blast and it actually made me want to get back into programming. The courses are just challenging enough to make you learn, but not so difficult that you feel like you want to give up. They're also written in a very engaging way. If you get stuck, Boots, the AI assistant is very helpful by guiding you towards the answer in a fun way without just straight giving the answer to you. Overall, definitely recommended!

Content, challenges are overwhmigly good. Gets you hooked on learning by getting a golden chest or using resource efficient. Engagement mechanism is just balanced, It doesn't impose you a set of available resources. I'm on a 19 day streak with it and I have advanced and received a ton of knowledge since I had only subscribed for a trial for one month and my regular job has seen lot of improvements.

It is not easy. You won't finish bootdev in a month and land a 100k job immediately. It is expensive and there's no hand holding. That said I couldn't recommend it more. I learned so much and had fun doing it. Yes, the learning curve is steep and yes, I was incredibly frustrated at times (looking at you FP course and SSG project) - but bootdev finally made me stick it out trying to learn programming. The blend between videos, text, quizzes, coding problems and projects just scratches my brain in the right way. I really appreciate that I can use boots as a tutor and talk through exactly what concepts I have trouble with - even if I have to do it a hundred times, he never gets impatient.

Such a fun learning concept! It is also very smartly designed, and has many layers of difficulty which are easy and intuitively to chose, simply by reading more or less of the instructions and help, or by asking more or less questions about something. I believe anybody who wants to learn a programming language will be able to enjoy this (if you like games and having fun).

A month in I've been using boot.dev to freshen up on basics ive gotten rusty on, while also learning a few things along the way. Currently in the backend course with hopes to learn some more from the later courses the structure so far has been fantastic at keeping me engaged.

I started 6 months ago as a way to refresh my knowledge and learn new thing; Python, Javascript, Typescript. Even after 30 years in the job, you have still things to learn, even things I wasn't expected, LLM Agents and RAG search engine. I got hooked on the gamification. And It finally give me the push to restart old personal projects I had.
