We do call out the size of each tag on the site in inches and fractions thereof. This order called for our small size, it is designed for small dogs and it is small. Our stainless tags are .060 thick and cannot be bent short of putting them in a vise and hitting them with a hammer... The thickness is certainly adequate with regards to providing a durable pet id tag.

Regarding the amount we radius [curve[ our CollarTags. We have not changed the degree of curvature, but we do radius the smaller sizes more than the larger sizes; this because larger dog's neck do not have as much curve in them as smaller dogs necks do. To determine the degree of radius of each size CollarTag we drew circles with a compass that reflected the average degree or curvature dogs that wear each width collar have to their necks. Apparently your prior order was for a narrower collar and thus we used a die that put more curve in the tag.

Hi Ashley! I am always looking for ways to improve my tags. If you can come up with a method I could employ that would make the text in the tags I provide darker I will use it. We engrave the stainless tags we provide with a diamond graver under very high pressure. The tag you received is guaranteed to remain legible for the life of the pet you purchased it for. If your beloved pet ever goes missing you can rest assured the tag will still be on its collar and readable / it's finder will be able to contact you. Good Day Susan! In order for the tag to have been lost the attaching ring would have had to fail. The rings we provide are adequate to secure our tags but will fail in one of two circumstances. 1) Someone who takes the dog for a walk (usually a child) attaches the lead to the tag ring. The rings will not stand up to the forces of a large dog tugging on a lead. 2) The tag gets caught on something and when the dog pulls away the ring fails. In this case, if the ring did not fail, it could lead to a tragedy. I urge you, as I do all my customers, to check out and consider my CollarTags. They do not depend on a ring or hook to secure them, they are not subject to friction, and I guarantee them to last the life of the pet they are purchased for. Any CollarTag that fails for any reason, during the life of the pet it is purchased for, is replaced free of charge. Sincerely, Don

Good Evening Ken! I do call out the detractors of brass as a tag metal on the web site in an effort to warn people who think they want tags made of it of the problems with it as a tag material (aluminum is even worse and so poor for the purpose I REFUSE to even offer tags made of it). In any case I am having the tag remade for you free of charge in stainless. It will mail to you tomorrow afternoon and the brass tag is yours to keep. As an aside, the letters in the brass tag will actually become easier to read in a short time as the metal that is pushed up during the engraving process will wear off as Max goes through his day.
