I used to like them more, but their selections as of late have not been great - very repetitive, almost exclusively young women authors with a specific worldview. I would like more variety and better overall writers represented. What the company does well is being very responsive to communication from members. Also, they will give a replacement book if you dislike one of your selections. I enjoy the concept of the club so I am hoping the selections begin to improve.

I used to really love BOTM club, but the quality and consistency have greatly decreased. More than one of my books came with book pages that were stuck together at the binding and attempting to pull the pages apart caused them to rip. That was frustrating. More frustrating, BOTM books have not been shipping in the timeline they are expected to. It’s September 19th and my books just shipped yesterday and are still in transit. The allure of ordering books to get them before they release loses its draw when they don’t ship on time. I contacted customer service for an update on shipping and received a reply with no apology or explanation - simply the updated and very late timeline.

I really like the affordability of the books! The shipping cost being free is a huge help and the cost of the credit is excellent compared to Modern bookstore prices, unless you buy secondhand. One thing I do not like as much are the books themselves. I've yet to provide feedback on the books because I am not as excited about their contents as I wish I were. A lot of the books seem to be aimed towards a millennial audience. Despite the books being from different authors, publishers, genres and so much more I find that they are similar in terms of how they are described. Anytime I have needed to reach out to book of the month regarding a charge / fee or any questions about my subscription I have been given helpful information!

I love this service, but not the options. I’ve skipped 2 out of the 4 months I’ve been a member because the only books available were the erotic/romance novels that are super popular right now; the ones with the super colorful, cartoony covers. More genres would keep me as a customer.

I enjoy being a part of book of the month - but struggle with the book choices. I often prefer the add ons and end up skipping as I don’t want any of the main choices. I would like it more if you had a popular author as one of the choices and then had a few new ones sprinkled in.

The book selection has gotten boring and substandard. I used to love BOTM but once I finish using my credits I don't plan to purchase more.

Overall positive experience but as a member for almost 10 years I’ve had good and bad. Customer service is mostly good. Any issues I’ve had has been taken care of. Pricing is good as a legacy member and add ons are reasonably priced. My only issues have been the selections month to month are mixed and I don’t like the main selections but would prefer the add on instead for my pick. I enjoy the variety but sometimes the main picks are just not great and have been disappointing as a reader.

I joined because there was a book I was interested in. There haven’t been many new books I am interested in. I would like to use my credits for other books besides the new monthly ones. I am cancelling after my third month because of this.
