horrible and surreal experience
just had what i can only describe as a compeletly surreal expeience in boots northallerton , out for the day i suddenly felt an acute toothache , my wife suggested i go to boots for co-codamol she has used it before for short .term pain relief , we entered boots [avery small scruffy one] and approached the dispensary counter . Two assistants who were stood together turned their backs on us and carried on a conversation . After about 5mins one asked us what we wanted , i said co-codamol she said i dont do this counter and walked off . A little while later the other sales assistant aproached , i asked for the tablets and she asked , in a very brusqe and overbearing manner, what are they for , i said i am in pain , she snapped back what kind of pain , i said tooth pain , she then said , do you have a dental appointment . At this point i began to envisage films with the gestapo and the french resistance. I said no i did not have an appointment , she snapped back well are you going to get one then , at this point i asked if she was supposed to cross question me like this, to which she replied in a very dominating manner , i work at boots and i will ask you any questions i like. at this point i told her she was quite mad and went to leave, she shouted after me , nobody talks to me like that your banned. I am 81 yrs old and of very short stature so i can only assume that she was taking out her frustrations on a safe target. I have always thought that boots staff were kind and helpful but not any more this took place on thursday at about 4pm if anybody from boots reads it.
