Streamlining the Financial Disclosure Process for Repeat Clients
It is great to be able to complete the entire process electronically, without the need for phone calls or in-person visits. However, having to complete the full financial situation disclosure questionnaire with each transaction is quite burdensome, particularly when much of the information is already on file. I understand the purpose of these questions in assessing whether a fixed annuity, particularly one with surrender penalties, is suitable for a particular client. However, for a client with a sound financial position whose suitability has already been assessed and confirmed on more than 10 occasions over the past three years, repeatedly completing the same extensive questionnaire seems excessive. It would be helpful if information already on file could be carried forward, with the client simply asked to review, confirm, and update any information that has changed.
