I would have given a 0 rating but that wasn’t an option. We hired the pet transport to drive our 2 precious dogs to Texas.Unfortunately, our 2 small dogs didn’t meet the criteria to fly with us.
It was an awful experience. We told the
dogs would arrive in a little over 25 hours since both drivers would share the driving time. They turned a 25 hour plus trip , allowing more time for rest stops, into a 35 hour trip. My 2 dogs arrived at their
destination at 3:45 in the morning. The drivers, along with everything in their car ,reeked of marijuana and tobacco. We had to throw out our dogs’ clothes, toys, bedding, crates and blankets , which I washed to try to remove the stench , to no avail.I have no words to describe the shock and horror when our friend , who graciously offered to have our dogs dropped off at her house, described the condition my 2 dogs arrived in.Our flight got us in early the next day.Needless to say , I called the manager and she apologized profusely. She told me what she was going to do at her end and I asked her what was she was going to for me to compensate all I lost. I also told her I took care of the tip at pick up .They each received $100 .The manager gave us a credit of $450 which included the total $200 tip .I also got an invoice near the end of the trip with an $87 shipping fee , which I was never told about. My husband and I are still upset from this horrible experience. The only positive thing is our 2 babies arrived alive. We were nervous the whole time they were being transported.
This experience has left us so traumatized and untrusting to ever hire any ground transportation service again. We are going to rent a car and drive back home with our 2 dogs ,which are like our children.

Do NOT use Blue Collar Pet Transport
Do NOT use Blue Collar Pet Transport! My wife and I ignored our guts and the negative reviews, and I deeply regret it. We needed to move Ozzie, a berna-doodle, from FL to TX and found Blue Collar on-line. We hired them to transport a sick/vulnerable dog, Ozzie, who has chronic Bordaella and an IGA deficiency (translation: catches anything & everything and gets really sick), while my wife flew to visit her sick Mom. The sales manager promised a professional, private, direct-route transport with no unplanned stops and our harness staying on for the entire trip (it’s a contract line item). The pre-trip planning went fine, but the day of the transport was a disaster. First, the driver showed up almost an hour late. Second, after leaving with Ozzy we watched the AirTag (Pro-Tip = put an Air-tag in your Dogs collar/harness) make a 40-minute stop at a random spot off the route to TX. Concerned, my wife called the driver who initially didn’t answer. When the driver finally did answer, the excuses started (“I was stopping for gas” …For 40 minutes? “I was visiting my mother’s grave” …Is she buried in someone’s front yard because there is no Cemetery anywhere near where you were? Not to mention that her stopping at a grave was clearly not a planned stop in the contract), and 3) At some point, Ozzy’s harness was inexplicably removed and put back on backward (in violation of the contract they had us sign and why? What was she doing with my dog?). That was enough to earn a bad review, but that was when it got even worse. Realizing we had a problem with the driver, my wife called the sales manager for help. She explained the situation, and was understandably concerned. He listened for a minute and then proceeded to call her “too uptight,” cancel the trip, and hang up on her. A few minutes later, he seemed to realize the error of his ways and texted back apologizing for hanging up (“It was out of character of me” …maybe?) and promised a full refund. Ozzy was returned (freaked out…what were they doing with my dog?), and my wife had to cancel her flight since she had the dog again. Later, she was contacted by a customer complaint specialist (seems odd that you need a full-time person to handle complaints, unless you have A LOT), “Hunter”. He listened to our story/gathered documentation, expressed regret and concern, and promised the owner would contact us to “make it right.” As of the date of this review, 10 days later, we’ve been ghosted…No Refund, No Calls/Responses from anyone. My wife had to cancel her flight to visit her mom and figure out an alternative method to get my immunocompromised dog home. It cost us lots of extra expenses, cancellation fees, and wasted time. Looking back more deeply at the reviews and info on these guys (12 complaints to the BBB!), we should have trusted our guts and avoided Blue Collar Pet Transport. We also realize that this review will almost certainly be met with an aggressive, insulting response from the owner blaming us for something to deflect blame from their lousy service (during and after). Bring it on! Save yourself the pain and avoid this company at all costs!
Response from Blue Collar Pet TransportSep 16, 2026
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We are sorry this transport did not proceed as planned, and we understand why the circumstances surrounding Ozzie, particularly given the health information provided to our team, made communication and adherence to the agreed service especially important.
We do want to clarify that an unexpected stop or a harness being repositioned does not, by itself, indicate that Ozzie was mistreated. We take any allegation concerning an animal’s safety seriously, and we are not aware of evidence establishing that Ozzie was harmed or improperly handled while in our care.
That said, the communication surrounding this transport could have been handled better. A customer raising concerns about their pet should be treated professionally, and we regret that the conversation escalated to the point that the transport was discontinued. Ozzie was returned safely once the service was canceled.
We also understand the frustration regarding the refund. Refunds and approved cancellations must be processed according to the applicable service agreement and payment-processing timeline, and we apologize for any lack of communication regarding its status.
We appreciate that the reviewer acknowledged Hunter’s efforts to listen, gather documentation, and address the concerns raised. Our customer service team exists precisely because transporting animals is an important responsibility and customers deserve a dedicated point of contact when something does not go as expected.
We will not respond to criticism with insults or personal attacks. We respect this customer’s right to share their experience, just as we believe it is important for us to provide context where appropriate. This experience is being reviewed internally, particularly regarding driver communication, adherence to private-transport expectations, and how customer concerns are escalated.
Pets are family, not cargo, and we remain committed to providing safe transportation and professional communication throughout every journey.

Worst decision ever
Worst decision ever. They did not even comply with the contract . I have an 11 years old shepherd mix rescue and I paid for service in cabin with a handle. Guess what he kept changing day as his convenience so he had to pick up the dog at my home in ocala take mia to a fly on 4 the july at 5 pm orlando airport he came to pick her up , with atitud at 1 pm of course it was imposible to make it on time go to the airport almost 3 hrs away , return the rental car and catch the plane so he said no the dog does not respond to commands, which is not true , is a pet , support and yes her behavior is perfect but he is not a k9 military trained . So I lost the money and all the arregments made in buenos aires to pick up , I was already there . Then he said I have to pay 2000 more and I send the dog by cargo which the whole point was not to do it that way , because she could travel with me if that was the case. I hired the company to avoid cargo since my dog is old ,but it did not have any other choice since I was already in argentina . Finally he arrange the dog to be flying in cargo on the 7 arriving on the 8 . Guess what the paperwork was wrong
Incomplete , the breed was incorrect since he put Sherman sheperd only like pure , " no mix " also ship it as an import. My dog ended up in warehouse with contraction materials , carrying by fort cliff machine like a palette of tiles .
Thanks to the fact I speak the language perfectly and all the employees , which I went from one office ot the other ,5 of them, as soon as they realize that the import in the papers was a pet they starting to help me to speed the process took almost 5 hours, got the dog at 1 pm she was in a cage from the day before arround 5 pm . Nobody could undertand how I paid almost 7000 and they made that mistake. She is a re location pet since I have doble citizenship not an import since the 4 until today 8 I been asking for some manager from blue collar to contact me nobody did , even at the airport nobody knew how she survive the whole odyssey. I ol.os forgot I had to paid here because of the import mistake, storage and all , almost another 400 . So no I will not ever recoment them . This site asked .e for more information to make sure it was a legit review , guess what my sweet dog passed away no long after the super stressful trip . Until today january 2026 non any kind of contact was made no refund for breaching the contract nor for the damage done.
Reply I m not scam you are , that is my reply to you . I never intended to have a full refund but yes for the service not provided, first 5000 that I have a contract you did not comply
Response from Blue Collar Pet TransportJan 6, 2026
We are very sorry to learn that your dog has since passed away\. Regardless of the disagreement surrounding this transport, losing a longtime companion is incredibly difficult, and we extend our condolences to you and your family\.
We do, however, need to clarify several points for readers\.
The originally planned in\-cabin service was not completed as scheduled, and alternative transportation arrangements were subsequently made to get your dog to Argentina\. International pet transportation involves airline acceptance, documentation, customs procedures, and destination\-country requirements, and we recognize how frustrating and stressful the complications surrounding this shipment were\.
We also understand your position regarding the approximately $5,000 you state was paid toward the originally contracted service\. A request for reimbursement for a service that a customer believes was not provided is different from a request for a complete refund after alternative transportation services and expenses were provided\. We believe that distinction is important when reviewing the circumstances of this case\.
Regarding your dog’s unfortunate passing sometime after the journey, we would never minimize such a loss\. However, without veterinary documentation establishing that the transport caused or contributed to the death, it would not be appropriate for either party to state that connection as a confirmed fact\.
We also do not consider you a “scam,” and we are not interested in attacking you personally for sharing your experience\. You have every right to describe what occurred from your perspective, and we have the same responsibility to provide context based upon our records\.
We regret that this experience resulted in such frustration and that communication afterward did not provide the resolution you were seeking\. Blue Collar Pet Transport takes international transportation, documentation, and the welfare of every animal entrusted to us seriously, and situations involving service or documentation disputes are reviewed so that we can identify where improvements are necessary\.

Your Pet Won't Survive Blue Collar Transport
Allow me to update the review below, which I wrote with extreme frustration. I paid a deposit to Blue Collar and then was able to make alternative arrangements for my dog (I flew with my dog myself). It took me months and months of calling to get my deposit returned. Ultimately they did return the money but it took dozens of calls, reviews like the one below, calling their workers, disputing charges. They fought me along the way. I was "nice" at the end just to get my money back but it took hours and hours of my time to get them to respond. It was never clear to me why the didn't simply return the money I paid as I had made alternative arrangements a few days after paying the deposit and NEVER agreed to any dates. The made ZERO effort to secure transit for my dog. I stand by my initial assertion that I would NEVER trust blue collar and would NEVER use their service. I'm grateful I got my money back but this company is extremely problematic to do business with if they can't quickly issue a refund on a deposit. On last note: I left this review in 2024...it took them over TWO YEARS to respond. That should tell you all you need to know about how competent this company's management is.
Here's the original review from 2024 (it's now September 2026) after trying for weeks to get them to refund my $810 deposit for a service I never used or scheduled:
Blue Collar is a scam. They stole my $810 deposit. Their owner, Richard Hardy, is a thief. They refuse to return a deposit for a service I cancelled long before any dates had been agreed to. If this company can't live up to their own contract which states they will issue a full refund, imagine what kind of shortcuts they take with your pet. I would never entrust my pet's life with these people.
Response from Blue Collar Pet TransportSep 16, 2026
We understand the customer’s frustration regarding their $810 deposit and take any refund dispute seriously. However, we respectfully disagree with the characterization of Blue Collar Pet Transport or its owner as a “scam” or “thief.”
This review concerns a financial disagreement regarding a canceled reservation. No pet was transported in connection with this complaint, and therefore the statement suggesting that a customer’s pet “won’t survive” our service is not based on any transportation experience involving this customer or their animal.
Refund eligibility and processing are determined by the terms of the service agreement and the circumstances surrounding the cancellation. If a refund was contractually due, we believe it should be handled accordingly, and any outstanding issue should be addressed through the appropriate customer-service process.
We respect every customer’s right to express dissatisfaction regarding a refund or cancellation. However, we believe it is important to distinguish that dispute from claims regarding animal safety when no animal was ever transported as part of this transaction.
Blue Collar Pet Transport remains committed to addressing legitimate customer concerns professionally and transparently.

Has to be the worst operation out…
Has to be the worst operation out there. They book below minimum wage jobs, and to make things worst they take weeks and you have to remind them to pay you. They have been caught many times stealing tips that customers left for the drivers. They are known for killing dogs with their affiliates. Also, their little secretary Jeff runs his mouth all the time and threatens the drivers because he basically wants to funnel all the jobs to himself. Best interests to not book with them. Thank you
Response from Blue Collar Pet TransportSep 16, 2026
We take concerns from drivers, affiliates, and customers seriously, but this review contains several allegations that we strongly dispute\.
Blue Collar Pet Transport works with independent transportation providers who are presented with available opportunities and can choose whether to accept them\. Compensation terms are communicated in connection with those opportunities\. If any provider believes a specific payment remains outstanding, we encourage them to identify the job and amount so our accounting team can review the records and address any legitimate balance\.
We also strongly dispute the allegation that Blue Collar Pet Transport routinely takes drivers’ tips\. Likewise, the statement that we are “known for killing dogs” is an extraordinarily serious accusation\. A tragic incident involving an animal does not, by itself, establish that Blue Collar Pet Transport or an affiliate caused the animal’s death\. Such claims should be supported by documented veterinary findings and the facts of the individual case\.
Regarding allegations about individual staff members threatening drivers or improperly directing jobs, we take those concerns seriously and will review documented communications when provided\. Personal attacks against employees, however, do not help resolve legitimate business disputes\.
If this reviewer has specific records supporting concerns regarding unpaid compensation, tips, or inappropriate communications, we welcome the opportunity to review them directly\.
Blue Collar Pet Transport remains committed to the safe care of the animals entrusted to us, fair dealings with our transportation partners, and addressing legitimate disputes based on documentation and facts\.

Absolutely horrible company
If I could give a 0 review I would. This company had
been contracted to move my sister-in-law's 4 dogs from California to Canada as she was coming home (Canada) to spend her last days with her family. She had terminal cancer. The schedule was organized, Blue Collar would pick up the dogs on Tuesday, the movers would come on Wednesday and my two sister's in law would fly on Wednesday evening. This was all before Blue Collar FAILED TO SHOW UP AS PLANNED. They didn't call and cancel, they failed to show up. When an alternate day was finally scheduled, the driver informed us he wasn't intending to give two of the dogs insulin because he was just a driver. We had prearranged for a vet tech to be with them to give them insulin. This was all bad enough, but because of their initial failure to pick up the dogs, my terminally ill sister in law had to sleep on the floor of her empty house, IN PAIN, because the furniture was gone and she couldn't take 4 dogs to a hotel. She couldn't take her scheduled flight and two family members took unpaid time off work, flew to California, rented a van and took 3 days to bring her and the dogs home. SHE WAS TERMINALLY ILL and really unable to safely travel for 3 days without medical care, and in pain over every bump. She passed away a month later. Blue Collar not only fails to reimburse the family for costs incurred but also fails to answer emails of return phone calls to address this issue. The only reason I finally got a big fat NO to reimbursement of costs is because I kept calling and told them I would keep calling. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEIR DISREGARD FOR A DYING WOMAN AND HER FAMILY IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.
Response from Blue Collar Pet TransportSep 16, 2026
First and foremost, we extend our sincere condolences to this family for their loss. We recognize that this transportation was being arranged during an extraordinarily difficult time, and we are truly sorry for the additional stress the family experienced.
We acknowledge that the originally scheduled pickup did not occur as planned. We understand the significant disruption this caused, particularly given the circumstances surrounding the customer’s health and travel arrangements.
We would, however, like to clarify the concern regarding insulin. Transporting animals requiring insulin involves additional medical considerations. A driver who is not appropriately qualified should not independently administer injectable medication. Arrangements involving a veterinary technician or other qualified individual must be clearly coordinated and confirmed as part of the transportation plan.
We also understand that the family ultimately made alternative arrangements to travel from California to Canada and subsequently requested reimbursement for expenses including flights, a rental vehicle, lost wages, and other costs. While we recognize why the family sought reimbursement, responsibility for consequential expenses beyond the contracted transportation service is a separate matter that must be evaluated according to the service agreement and circumstances of the cancellation.
We regret if our communication following the incident did not meet expectations. Regardless of the outcome of a reimbursement request, the family deserved a clear and timely response.
We would never minimize what this family was experiencing or the loss they subsequently endured. We respectfully ask that readers distinguish the very real frustration surrounding the missed pickup and resulting travel complications from any suggestion that our company was indifferent to the customer’s illness.
We extend our condolences again to the entire family.

My dog was picked up in Texas on a…
My dog was picked up in Texas on a Sunday going to Florida. He was loaded into a car with multiple other dogs and placed in a very small cage. He was not delivered until the following Saturday. He was in that small cage in that car for 6 days!!!! When I received him, he looked like he had lost 15 pounds. He immediately ran to his water bowl but it was empty so I filled up all the way up for him and he instantly drank the entire thing. I filled it back up for him and he drank that too. I felt absolutely horrible that I allowed this to happen to him and would NEVER use these guys again!
Response from Blue Collar Pet TransportSep 16, 2026
We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your dog’s transportation experience. We understand how concerning it would be to receive your dog and believe that he had lost weight or was excessively thirsty.
We would like to clarify that shared ground transportation involves multiple pets traveling along a scheduled route, which can result in a longer transit time than private or direct transportation. However, pets are still required to receive appropriate food, water, exercise breaks, and care throughout their journey.
We take the allegations of significant weight loss and dehydration seriously. A dog drinking a large amount of water upon arrival, however, does not by itself establish that water was withheld during transport, just as an estimated change in appearance does not establish a specific amount of weight loss without documented before-and-after weights or veterinary findings.
We also take concerns regarding kennel size seriously. Kennels used during transportation should be appropriately sized for the animal and the service being provided.
We regret that this experience left you feeling that your dog had not been properly cared for. Pets are family, not cargo, and concerns involving an animal’s condition upon delivery deserve to be taken seriously and reviewed against the transportation records.

DO NOT USE BLUE COLLAR
The experience we had with transporting our dog was absolutely awful. BLUE COLLAR is very communicative when it comes to getting you to sign the contract and make payments. The communication ends there. They talk about making your move easy, acknowledge how stressful it can be and how dogs can pick up on stress---yet there was literally nothing about our experience that was stress free.
In their “Values,” they state that you will get regular updates and photos and have communication during transport. The only time any of that happened, was when I checked in. Never proactively. And it wasn’t until a couple days into the trip, that I was able to track the van, or else I would have had no idea where our dog was.
We scheduled a group transport from Maryland to California. Our pickup window was Dec 26th-Dec 30th. I was told we would be contacted by the driver…I kept checking in because no one had reached out to us and was told on December 23 that someone would be assigned that day and if not, to call back after the weekend (Xmas). I checked in again on the 26th and was told no one had been assigned yet and that someone would be assigned that day. No one was.
On the 26th, I was given a driver’s name and told he would reach out. After I called him twice and sent 2 texts—none of which were responded to—I was told he “had flown the coop” and we would be assigned someone else.
On December 27th we were given a new driver and told he would contact us that night or the following morning. He did not. I texted and called him as well. After not getting any responses, I called customer service multiple times to see what was happening and was told that they couldn’t see what dispatch was doing and assured me the driver would eventually call.
The driver never called but dispatch eventually did. He was eventually picked up on Dec 31st at 10pm.
BLUE COLLAR very clearly states that all times are ETA’s, and they can’t account for weather, car issues, etc. That we totally understood. But what you should be aware of:
-You must be avail AT ALL TIMES not only in your window, but any time before or after, until the pickup and drop-off happen. From our experience, even allowing for the fluid nature of estimated time of arrival, their windows were not reliable ..therefore, the person placing your pet to begin the trip and the person receiving your pet must be able to accommodate all notices for pickup and drop off. If you have a job, family responsibilities such as childcare or elder care you must be prepared to drop what you are doing at a moment’s notice.
-Our experience with the estimated times were that they changed with each person we talked to. Not by just hours, which would fit into the estimated time of arrival, but by days. This was tremendously stressful, which could have been mitigated with consistent and accurate communication. Along the way we were given 3 different days and times that he would be delivered. And after originally being told the drive would take 3-4 days, it took 6.
BLUE COLLAR states that your pet will be driven by experienced drivers and in a BLUE COLLAR van.
-What they didn’t tell us, nor is it in the contract, is that they hired a THIRD PARTY to transport our dog. An entirely different company and paid them substantially less than what we paid.
-Of the first 2 drivers that picked up our dog, one lasted only a day or 2 into the drive because he couldn’t stay awake for more than 3 hours.
-The van was not a BLUE COLLAR one. It was an older model that went into the shop on the way to pick up, once during the drive, and had to circle hours backwards after another van broke down. Which meant our dog was stuck in the crate each time something like this happened. While unexpected things may happen, the consumer is reasonable in believing that the transport vehicle will be reasonably maintained and reliable.
-The van was filthy, and our dog smelled awful.
-I want to be very clear that I don’t fault the other company---we didn’t have a contract with them, and they were under no obligation to abide by BLUE COLLAR’S contract.
BLUE COLLAR states that your pet will be fed per instructions of their normal eating schedule and will give them the food you provide.
-We sent 7 days worth of food---and for fear of retaliation, I am not going to post how many days of food we got back, but it amounted to our dog not being fed for days.
-I want to be very clear that I don’t fault the other company---we didn’t have a contract with them, and they were under no obligation to abide by Blue Collar’s contract.
In marketing materials, BLUE COLLAR claims to “TREAT YOUR PET LIKE FAMILY”. I wouldn’t have wished this experience on my worst enemy, let alone a family member.
