Under normal circumstances, our automated system is more reliable than a human-performed bike fit. The algorithms are based on many pieces of scientific research and on many years of bike fitting experience of different experts. And we make use of millions of data point to learn and improve the system. The weakest link in our system is the human factor. If people are not happy with the bike fit, 9 out of 10 times they made a mistake in their self-measurements. We have several customers that have done a human-performed professional bike fit for more than $200 and were not happy with the result. Then they did our online bike fit, and were happy with our bike set-up advice that provided them a comfortable and efficient riding position. Of course, an automated system like ours does have downsides as well. And we mention them on our website. For example, if you have serious physical issues, if your body has asymmetric elements like a leg length difference, or if you have an atypical riding style. In these situations, we advise going for a bike fitter with a medical background.

Dear customer, The reach and stack ranges have nothing to do with potential measurement mistakes. They have a range because you can adjust your bike setup within these ranges. On a road bike for example, you can install stems with different angles and length. A stem length between 70 and 120 mm is very acceptable. Therefore we have a reach range that covers 50mm (120-70). If you buy a new bike, the better bike shops will make sure you get the right bike setup with the stem size that is required for your optimal bike fit and riding position. If we provide you with a smaller stack and reach range, you would eliminate bike models from your search that actually do fit you well.
