Berlitz dramatically fell down on my expectations. One teacher was great and professional, both other 3 teachers I had were quite bad (mixing languages, talking all the time vs. making me speak, having a very strong American accent while talking Spanish). But the worst was the way Berlitz handled the scheduling process. No coordination whatsoever. Always forgetting to pass on the word about scheduling, no digital tool to book lessons, and very patchy follow up. It’s really unfortunate considering how expensive the lessons are and how good the Berlitz brand awareness is. If my company didn’t have an agreement with Berlitz, and if I had to pay personally for my lessons, I would certainly not sign up with them again.

Language learning is very dependent on your teacher. My Italian instructor at Berlitz is fantastic. I’ve been seeing Cristina Butti for over 4 months and couldn’t be happier with her patience, teaching ability, and empathy with her students. Moreover it was difficult for me to meet at the Berlitz office given I travel between two homes. Having lessons via Skype has been a wonderful alternative. My only critique is that not only do the physical offices need a refresh but the technology for some internet self-learning is hit or miss. I would have liked a more hands-on, in person tutorial of all that is on offer. Instead I’ve largely ignored some potentially value learning aids because it was too frustrating for me to figure it out. The saving grace was having a great teacher.

I had a great experience and would highly recommend Berlitz! I had a fantastic teacher.

Energetic instructor! Good for conversational learning of new languages. Could use more technology as part of their curriculum to adapt to the 21st century.

Un buen profesor. Debe mejorar las facilidades a veces se dañaba aire y no había un abanico apropiado, proveer herramientas de trabajo (no había pizarra apropiada, magic market y borrador en buen estado, equipo digital, entre otros), mejorar el mercadeo de su empresa y mejorar la estructura de enseñanza.

I think the course material and the instructor is Excellent.

I am taking private lessons and having the time of my life. The class is challenging, yet fun! My instructor, Luz, has such a passion for teaching. I anxiously look forward to my Saturday classes and I’ve learned so much.
