At first, I was terrified. On our way to El Paso, I was wondering what had I gotten myself into. All the patient facilitators were amazing from the beginning to the end and answered any questions I had and were there to calm my fears in the time before I left. We got there the day before my surgery and I was shaking I was so scared. I didn't know how the communication was going to be. We walked into the hospital in Juarez (which is really really nice by the way) and the staff immediately made me feel welcome. Some of the ladies checking me in couldn't speak English but they put the translator up on their computer and we were able to communicate that way. They took me to my room and immediately started all the preop tests. That was a wow because I'm used to waiting hours for tests to be done. They let us go get something to eat after tests, we came back to the hospital and slept for the night. I was the first in surgery the next day. I was so scared, my blood pressure was through the roof. They kept telling me to calm down and just breath and that everything was going to be OK. When I woke up, I was back in my room and the nurses stayed on time with my medicines. They made sure I wasn't in pain or nauseated. The whole time I was there, everyone was extremely nice to me and my husband. We never felt out of place, we never felt like we made a mistake. We never once regretted our decision to do this. The doctors were awesome and informative. They answered any questions and they took care of me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would definitely do it over if I had to

I felt that the pre-surgery information was not in chronological order and it is repetitive which makes the instructions hard to follow. Nurses do not wear gloves nor do they use alcohol wipes on ports of IV. Rooms were clean and spacious, staff very friendly although very few speak English. Surgery is one hour and one hour in recovery. No one consulted with my husband that surgery went ok. After surgery; I arrived in my room at 2:45 with the start of a black eye caused from the gas mask that was used during surgery. Not one nurse came in my room to take vitals until we demanded assistance at 5pm when I decided to get up to walk. I sat up and passed out twice because the pain was so intense, finally I had doctors and nurses all around me, all wearing gloves. Blood sugars high, blood pressure low, oxygen levels very low and I couldn't move without pain. At 9pm I went back into surgery, a large hematoma was found at the upper part of my stomach. It was removed, stomach was resealed and the entire area flushed out. I also had 3 blood transfusions. Again, no one informed my husband how I was. At 11:00 pm he demanded information and found out I was in ICU. I returned to room around midnight. And finally, my recovery was going as it should and I was feeling pretty good by the next morning. But by the afternoon I still had IVs in both arms, I was swollen and when I pushed on my hands fluids shot out, both veins were blown yet the nurses did not remove or fix them! Two days later, on a Friday, we were home. I tried to call BeLite but I couldn't get through to anyone. I ended up emailing on Sat. and talked about my second surgery but no one responded until Monday. The hospital did not inform BeLite that I had complications. I loved the doctors at Star Medica. If I had to do it over I would still have the VSG surgery but not sure I would go through BeLite.

My experience was awesome going to Mexico for my surgery, everyone was so nice and friendly and I would do it again if I had to. I feel great and I have lost 46 pounds in 8 weeks since my surgery!

I wish I would have done this years ago. I guess fate has its way of taking its time. I've struggled with my weight all of my life. I have spent a fortune and tried everything under the sun to try and keep it off to no avail. I met a guy through a hunting excursion that used Belite weight for a gastric sleeve procedure in Mexico. He had tremendous success and seemed to be healthy. I decided I would give it a try. I can't say enough about Mrs. Joyce. She was very helpful and detailed about everything. The whole experience went very smooth. I will admit I was nervous when I first got to the hospital but after meeting the staff I settled in. The hospital was very clean and modern and the nurses were well attentive. I'm 5 weeks out and down 37#

For someone who wanted no hassle just results, this company was perfect for me. They did everything to make sure I was able to get my surgery and gave me the tools to be successful. I had a great experience with them and the hospital and Doctors that they hooked me up with. The phone calls made to me for me to ask questions were very helpful as well.

If you are reading this, then you are just like me and researching the possibility of having weight loss surgery in Mexico through Be Lite. Just so you know that this is a completely unsolicited review..I asked them to please send me the link so I can share by experience. I was so nervous going into the surgery, and not because I didn't do my research. My family and friends were the ones who were making me nervous about everything! They all thought I was crazy for going to Mexico to have the surgery...to the point where I almost changed my mind the week before! I am SO glad I didn't and I would do it again in a heartbeat! The whole experience was top notch, from the time they picked me up at the airport on Friday until the Monday they dropped me back off. My husband came with me and he has completely changed his tune and said he would recommend it to anyone. Jaime(pronounced Hy-may) picked us up on Friday(Sergio was off that day) and he was fantastic! He was super friendly and funny...he made you feel very comfortable. We also had another couple with us from California in the shuttle...it was great to have another person who was going through the same surgery! Check in at the hotel was a breeze and the hotel is beautiful. We were on a very quiet and private floor and had very big and very nice rooms. The nurses were some of the best I've ever had and were always very concerned about how I was feeling. The nurse who did my IV was amazing...I didn't feel a thing and it never hurt the whole weekend! The doctors were in every day to see me and always made sure I understood what was happening and if I had any questions. The surgery was a breeze too...when I woke up I didn't even know it was over, I thought I was still waiting to go in! I barely had pain and on Sunday I was allowed to actually walk outside and down the road to the mall. I never had a time where I felt unsafe, in fact I always felt so comfortable. There was plenty of channels on the TV in English and there was a Buffalo Wild Wings across the street for my hubby to go watch sports while I slept(you will do a lot of that in the first few days). It's OK to be nervous, this is a life changing experience, but don't be scared about Star Medica, Dr. Rod, or Be Lite...It's all wonderful and on the "up and up." One of my supportive friends said "You're a smart girl, I know if you get down there and it is even the tiniest bit sketchy you will just turn around and go home." She's right, I would have done that if I felt that way, even for a second...I didn't. It was an amazing experience and it will change your life for the better. Good luck!!!
