When I was considering which course to choose for the exam, I found that Becker had the best reputation in the market, and after passing I feel confident saying that the reputation is well-deserved. Becker left me thoroughly prepared for each section of the exam. The course itself was paced effectively, so I could spend my evenings watching lectures and working through the practice problems while still working full-time during the day. The lectures provided a good backbone of information and principles, with enough examples and levity to keep them engaging. The deep reserve of practice problems gave me a chance to get familiar with the format and style of the exam as well as the material covered in the books and lectures. There are so many tools and ways to study, and I made use of everything. In addition to the lectures and practice questions, there were flashcards, outlines and annotated notes, adaptive questions that helped me identify areas of weakness and focus on them, and customizable practice tests. The mobile app and Accounting for Empires games made it easy to study anywhere, and I spent many road trips or evenings on the couch over the past few months on my phone reworking practice problems and reviewing flashcards. While each section felt daunting at the beginning, after completing my study plan I was confident I would succeed.

Passed each exam on my first try. I don't know if it was efficient, but I can't argue with the results.

Most multiple choice questions are not covered in the book or not enough lectures on different scenarios presented on the multiple choice questions. The allotted time per lecture are not consistent, i.e. ~30 minutes but the actual lecture is ~45 minutes or more. I like to review the time before starting so i can properly allot my hours studying, this simple differences could make a lot of difference on my planning. some professor "zoom" through the lectures. Peter Olinto explains the lectures in a very detailed manner. For BEC, specifically IT, i had to go research other resources to supplement Beckers lecture and the topic itself was not that bad, it was just that the instructor zoomed through the lecture and there is not enough material on Chapter 6. Can we get better instructors like Peter Olinto? because he explains the topics very well.

Great preparation and helpful tips - if you fully use Becker, there is no need to use another CPA review course.

Passed the exam on the first try!

I used Becker when I started working at a big four firm straight out of college. After years of trying to pass the exam I could never get all sections completed within the allotted timeframe and ultimately gave up. Ten years later, I got back on the horse. The level of improvement in the Becker software, study materials and overall content is absolutely amazing! I love that the sections have gotten smaller and more manageable. I can do a lecture on my lunch break and then do the MCs after work either on my PC or on my phone. The textbooks are organized in a rationale manner where information builds onto itself from chapter to chapter. You can review the flashcards and MCQs on your phone. But the most important part is that the software tracks and quizzes you more on those sections that you're not understanding ensuring that on test day you have very little weak areas. Once I took the exams, my scores were at least ten to fifteen points higher than my average Becker practice exam scores. Finally being able to ask questions via email and getting a response within a couple of hours is amazing. For anyone that's tried Becker years ago but for one reason or another never passed and has had the CPA hanging over their heads, give it another try. I was encouraged to keep studying because it seemed like everything was designed to help me.
