I ordered several curtain rods. After Installing the curtains onto the rods I started to adjust the curtains and saw that the loops were scratching the finish on the rods. The loops were not metal so I couldn’t understand why they were scratching. $800 in scratched curtain rods. I also bought an upholstered headboard. The fabric was custom and the size was a full. The headboard is too narrow for a standard bed frame. We have now ordered our third bed frame and are contemplating cutting it apart and reengineering it. I may have to hire a carpenter to build me a bed frame to fit the headboard. How absurd is that! I hate to throw away the headboard because it cost $1000. I can’t in good conscience resell it because it’s sized wrong. I loved Ballards design esthetics but the quality has forced me to no longer do business with them.

Honestly speaking, seriously the colour faded right after the first wash and now I'm out of pocket with nothing to show for it. Won't be ordering from them again.

I've been shopping with them for a while, but the return window had already closed before I even received it, honestly, forcing me to reorder from somewhere else. Learned my lesson the hard way.

Big problems with processing orders and shipping. Website is a bit vague on order process time plus. Plus the transfer of shipping large orders takes way to much time. Custom service reps on the telephone, but again, non committal on information. They confirmed my order was in stock, but again, vague on processing and shipping.

Order updates not timely; cannot reach customer service; phone hold times ridiculously long; online chat not available. Just poor customer support.

We recently ordered a number of Ballard's Tuscan bookcase units in the Walnut finish. We are pleased with the units and would rate them as a four-star purchase, in terms of the quality and appearance of the units. Ballard's lack of any option to assist with the set-up of units for an additional fee significantly detracted from the experience, however. While the delivery people were pleasant and professional and placed the units where we asked them to, they were not able to assist in setting up the units, even when offered a fee. As a result, we will not order any items from Ballard again if they require any type of set-up. Unlike some other companies such as Pottery Barn, Ballard does not offer any optional White Glove Delivery service for an additional fee. I knew this when I ordered the bookcase units, but erroneously assumed that I could pay the delivery people to help me set up the bookcases (set up includes leveling the four screw-type feet on the bottom of each unit, so that all units match in height and angle; unpacking the shelves; installing shelf brackets; disposing of shelf wrapping, etc. ) The delivery people said that they would like to have done it, but were prohibited from doing so by Ballard). All of the set up is now done, and we are pleased with the units. But I'm not pleased that I had to spend four hours getting the bookcases set up and that Ballard offered no option to have that work done when the units were delivered. The whole process took a lot more time and effort than I had hoped that it would.
