It was necessary to set the prongs extra narrow to pick up last years nut shells, and it worked well. I will need to reset them back when the new crop arrives this fall

Works okay for onesies and twosies lying about, raking is still easier if there are more than just a few. Had a problem with the plastic arms that connect from the handle to the mechanism to clear pick-up head; nothing really holds it together and its arms kept falling off. Had to use duct tape to keep it together. Seems there should be some way to keep these securely connected. Overall does what it says it does.

All went well except when I found out I could get free shipping after I already paid with credit card. I received an e-mail after I ordered that I could use the code to get free shipping.

During this health and economic crisis, it was a difficult decision to spend precious cash on the equivalent of a full featured Honda mower on a mostly plastic and rubber push roller gizmo. That is really the worst thing about the bag-a-nut - it's pricing. But desperation with 2 huge sweet gum trees spewing forth their bounty and a bad back from raking with no other reasonable (cheaper) alternative (that works) pushed me over the edge. And oh my, does it work! Only those nasty balls embedded into the ground aren't swept into the basket. The rollers rarely miss anything, but with a thick load, the balls do tend to bunch up and not drop down. They have to be pushed down and forward into the basket by hand pretty often. And dumping a rectangular basket into a round container isn't all that convenient, especially with one of the support bars holding things back in a bunch. It would be nice if there were a trap door on the side for easier dumping. I doubt any of these complaints apply to nuts, but are unique issues to sweet gum balls stick togetherness. The only other complaint is that the basket sometimes drops off the front and flips upside down emptying its load. But all in all, this thing is really a great timesaver.

Works great. Could be a little sturdier for the price.

I think it would work better for me if the orchard floor had less rock and debris

I like the product, it worked as advertised. I will say that the area has to be really clean otherwise you pick up a lot of unwanted debris, so clean it up and get started!

I have the classic bag-a-nut. I really like it and it does help significantly. It doesn't grab as well on uneven ground, but that is understandable. I go fairly slow and go half-way back over a strip I just did and then I am able to get 100 percent of them, minus the ones sunken in or on uneven ground. The key with the bag-a-nut, is to do it frequently and after a fresh wind and get them up then. Waiting would not work as well as the gumballs would tend to get smashed into the ground more. Overall, it saves my back and the extra job of bagging. I give it a 4 star as I wish something could be added to get the ones on the end of the roller to flip in instead of back out again.
