I felt I was in capable hands through the entire experience. The developmental editor, Nathaniel, gave me some significant suggestions that lead to my dropping two chapters and adding two others. Took a lot of work, but it totally improved the book. As well, suggesting a 3rd person personal POV that gave me way more freedom and allowed the manuscript to be more readable. The cover editor was patient and perfectly created my vision. The interior editor blew my mind with how he picked up on themes and translated them into little icons. The copy editing was relentless, almost broke me, but got it done.

Atmosphere Press does very well with bringing clear, professional, transparency to book publishing. Prices and expectations are set clearly. Timelines are explained and met with professionalism. And transparency is a common thread throughout deal terms and conversations during the total engagement process. Atmosphere can accommodate needs at a base, or core service level, and also higher-touch needs through buy-ups. The details needed to make decisions on what services to engage with are clear and transparent. The team is available to answer questions quickly.

The publishing process was very streamlined, with an experienced professional to help you every step of the way. The editing process was extremely helpful. I never knew what developmental editor was, so i had no idea that I really needed one! Money well spent.
