My experience with Atmosphere Press has been a positive one, surpassing my expectations in many areas. The publishing staff were very accommodating to the concerns I had and willing to make changes to oblige me. The publicity staff were helpful and supportive in guiding me through an area in which I had little experience. The one disappointment I had was with the editing process. I had hoped for some advice in story arc, character development and motivation, and, since my novel was science fiction, feedback about the viability of the science fiction aspects. All I received was a half-hour phone call discussion of the first chapter plus a few generalities about writing. The mechanical editing, however, was thorough and useful. Although I had some initial misgivings about the cover, I must commend Ronaldo for a remarkably good design that continues to receive praise from those who see it. The people in Atmosphere Press with whom I have interacted have impressed me as friendly, encouraging and professional. This has not been my first experience with a hybrid publisher, but it has been by far the best.

Overall, my experience with Atmosphere Press was extremely positive. The cover art design process was incredible, and the editing experience gave me insight that I can take with me for my future work as well. I chose Atmosphere Press because I wanted advice not only on my debut novel but on navigating an entirely new industry. I do believe I received such guidance from Atmosphere - and with immense kindness as well. Having said that, a significant mistake negatively affected the release of my book. The Atmosphere Press team immediately worked to correct it, but I found that particular aspect of my publishing experience very stressful. Since the publication of my book, I continue to have positive, congenial experiences with the Atmosphere Press team. I recognize that they continue to seek out opportunities to evolve and to provide value for authors. I feel fortunate to have had my first publishing experience with Atmosphere.

Atmosphere press could hardly be surpassed for editing and production--the covers have been exceptional. It fell down on prolmotion, as far as I'm comcerned, too few books sold and inadequate communication about sales, and so my sixth book, MAURO'S HAT, is coming out shortly from an Enlgish publisher.

Good guidance. Clear methods. Satisfying result. A book I can be proud of.

The cover design team was fabulous. They listened, understood, and redesigned the cover until we were all satisfied. The developmental editor was excellent.

I had a wonderful experience publishing my debut novel with Atmosphere Press. My editor was fantastic and became a real champion for my book. The layout process went smoothly and the cover design blew my socks off. Holding my baby in my hand for the first time was a thrill! The only thing I would have done differently is forgo the additional marketing package. It was very cookie-cutter and did not really provide anything I couldn't have done myself. In fact, the results of the marketing I did on my own far surpassed those I paid for. Publishing is their strength. Marketing not so much.

I can’t speak highly enough of Atmosphere. Have written one book to date, which was published just a few months ago. I was particularly impressed by the natural friendliness and help given every step of the way, including each step being carefully explained beforehand. The major ones are the editorial and interior design, and their head rep is for me the true star of the entire experience, Ms Alex Kale. Her helpfulness is so heartfelt it seemed she became like a friend! Ronaldo, head of Cover Design is a top professional, a real gent too, totally respectful of the author’s ideas on both front and back covers, so one does have all the input wished for. They just turn it into a brilliant reality … and it’s the end product that actually counts most, and I was overwhelmed by how good mine was - both inside and out. So I have no hesitation at all in recommending them to any author, especially a new one like me! There’s hardly anything in life that’s perfect though, and there was actually one downside for me: the final step in the process, regarding publicity was really underwhelming - not in the least what I was looking forward to. If they can possibly improve that, and I mean without extra charges, then yes, Atmosphere will be the perfect publisher. But thank you anyway guys for the great work (overall) you’ve done!

I had a very positive experience with Atmosphere. Of course, with any publishing process there are glitches. For me there were a couple of times I didn't know what to ask and got caught in circumstances that weren't comfortable, but ultimately got resolved, thus four stars rather than five. Getting a book to publication is not easy but it's very satisfying with Atmosphere Press. From the very beginning I could envision my book's publication. The artistic team is amazing. And, there are many tiers so that I could choose the support I needed. I am happy with the post publication support, too. Having a hybrid press in these times makes the difference between having the book you want or no book at all. Glad to now be an author thanks to Atmosphere Press.
