The interest rates are better than other companies that we researched, but we could not get funding for the next semester because Ascent changed their income requirements. Although nothing changed on our end to get approved, because things changed on their end, we were left with scrambling to find another company to get a student loan. Most other companies do not have as strict of requirements so it was still easy to get a loan with good credit but this is not a good experience for a student trying to get an education

The first email I received after getting a loan, said that I owed $36k on August 15th. It didn’t include the year or that my minimum payment of $25 is due on the 15th.
