Attempted Purchase
Attempted, several times, to place an order. Each time, their order page mysteriously added $800-1000 to my price. Someone at AF responded to my email offering to handle my purchase outside of the normal order process. They assured me their IT department found no discrepancy or issues with my order. Perhaps I am too skeptical, but a little ammunition forwarding company having an IT department seems odd to me. Only finding seven reviews online also fails to pass the smell test. I am a member of a massive firearms community, in which no one has even heard of AF.com. We purchase, collectively, millions of rounds of ammunition every year. Good deals and good suppliers are shared enthusiastically. I don't think it would be prudent to be sharing my CC information with this "company".
Response from Armory FarmOct 26, 2023
Hello Robert P. I am Michelle I am the representative that responded to your email earlier. If you would kindly re read the email I sent you, I wrote " I went into our website Incognito Style and "placed" an order under your mailing address. I do not see any odd or fraudulent fees/charges. In the meantime I have contacted our IT department and hopefully they can find a resolution that better suits your online needs. I apologize for the inconvenience in ordering our products." I did not assure you that our "IT department found no discrepancy." I assured you I could handle the order over the phone, rather than ask you to wait for the IT department to fix the issue. We too are part of the massive firearms community and would hope there are other ways to help the community thrive and grow, rather than to just write a harsh 1 star review about company which you do not yet know. All businesses start somewhere. A 1 star review can do a lot of damage to a business that just might provide an excellent product with excellent service. I feel this industry is being scrutinized from many angles now a days, and we in the industry should stick together. Anyone who reads this review may find other reviews for us on AMMOSEEK and GOOGLE if that is at all helpful. I will offer a coupon code to the first 10 people who read this review and try us regardless of Robert's assumption of us. Please use "Review5" at check out. Robert if you yourself would be so willing to try and get to know us that would be lovely as well. I know we are not located near one another, however you are always welcome to check us out in person, we are located in Savannah, Georgia. Or if you and or your companions will be attending SHOT SHOW 2024 you are welcome to swing by our booth, where we will be operating under our parent company MEDEF. You see, Armory Farm is the name of the website. I certainly apologize for the "glitch" that is hindering your check out experience with our website. After reviewing your screenshot, we have solved the issue. When you check out you are prompted to enter your address, line by line. In other words, you are asked to put the City in one line and the the State in the next prompted line. When you put the city and state on the same line, the software is not recognizing the address with the correct rates. I entered the address multiple times exactly as prompted to (with the City where the City prompt is and the State where the State prompt is) and found the shipping to be about $30, which is where that incorrect amount of $800-$900 was occurring for you. I emailed you the solution as well. I also shared a screen shot to help further clarify any discrepancies to help explain. I also hope that you would be willing to to do some other research on us. Maybe if you did you could be willing to rate us on our products rather than a lack of recognition? I hope all is well with you and that we are able to work together in the future. Our industry truly could use the camaraderie. Best, Michelle
