Very professional company, my book looks amazing!!

Archway took my dream and made it a beautiful, tangible, marketable reality. Very responsive customer service along the entire way (although a lot of changes to my rep which got a little confusing). I never felt I was just another client or asking too many questions. The illustrations were spot-on and I was allowed to tweak them until they were perfect. Holding that high quality book in my hands was so affirming! Archway is a bit expensive (especially any additional illustrations and marketing packages) but you get what you pay for. Definitely would recommend!

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORSE!!! I spent thousands of dollars for my book. When I received the book, it was the absolute worse quality. I sent them a final print ready copy and this book looks like a childrens book. The fact that they are charging $70 for this book is embarrassing. The quality is trash and they robbed me of my first experience as an author. It took them 2 years to finalize my project. They had 6 ppl work with me and on the final print, things were wrong.

It's essential to acknowledge that Archway is run by author solutions, which doesn't have an excellent track record. However, that being said, if you aren't a known commodity and have a book you want to publish. Archway is still an excellent option for those unfamiliar with the process and needing a company that can do the vast majority of the labor. The people I worked with were friendly, helpful, and relatively understanding of my needs. Be prepared if unprepared; they can nickel and dime you into debt. If you can handle some of the work yourself, for example, designing the cover or editing, then do it yourself or look for a third party to assist. I am incredibly pleased with the final result of my own book. And I hope this review helps you decide for yourself moving forward.

They were careful and methodological about getting my approval and being right. Also the final printed book was good, good cover and paper weight, clear printing, good color work. Early on in the process there were odd delays in communication but those seem to have been fixed or resolved.

I will say that I was filled with joy and excitement to work with and publish through Archway. However, the illustrations department was horrendous. The lack of understanding and communication caused my book to be in production for a year to date. And there are still problems that were not fixed after being told they would be and signing the approval. So disappointed. Not only that, but my package is no longer available to view. I was to have a library of congress number and the buy back program for 24 months and no longer do—it’s being offered as an extra package deal for almost $900. It’s so disappointing. I will never publish with this company again. I still do not have my author copy’s …I’m told they were mailed and delivered, but I have nothing. It’s so disappointing that others could purchase my book through archway or amazon etc, and have a copy in hand before me…the author.

I found that they were very responsive whenever I had any questions or concerns. The only thing I’d say needs some help, is the concierge should be informed as to the extra charge of editing a manuscript.
