Utterly I.

This ain't your father's AR15.com. Following the death of the founder and staff leader Edward there was a bit of a coop where staff members not wanting to change the board's rules got tossed out. Now anonymous moderation allows for the most "sensitive Steve" sensitivities to control the behavior of all. The place is run as a dictatorship rather than the "round table" we once enjoyed. There is no training or guidance given to the staff or moderators once selected. In the past the staff had 3-5 members and now it has close to two dozen meaning that there are now a couple dozen opinions on what is and what isn't a violation. Often those violations are of the "unwritten" secret code-of-conduct. There's definitely a controlling faction that isn't interested in the board as a discussion forum. Changes and additions to the rules are no longer designed and discussed in the Staff forum but are instead delivered to the Staff by TBS without review or comment welcomed. This often leads to amazingly confusing results and chaos. The selection of new moderators and staff members used to have to be discussed in the staff forum. Now they are assigned by TBS without discussion. We end up with moderators who are overly aggressive and treat the membership poorly. I was banned for a month for posting a political meme that had been post there hundreds of times prior. Because they changed the secret rules and didn't tell anyone. Upon returning I provided facts to counter an argument in a discussion and took a ban for "trolling" - disagreeing with someone just to get a rise. No, I really am a conservative and really do support conservative causes. There wasn't even a hint of anger in my providing the fact - it was an opinion-less offering of the facts from an authoritative source rather than the liberal paper the writing I was correcting was quoting. There are now hundreds of former account members there who have not renewed their paid accounts and hundreds more who have been ban recently in the last few months. The dream that was the open discussion forum that Edward created is dead. It was killed on purpose.
