They offered zero useful assistance, no advice, just one call as I recall. ZERO. Staff was busy with nonsense so far as I can tell. I was the first per person to enter last Monday, and had to wait 30 minutes for nothing.

Does TWC have ignorant people working for them? They aren't very bright they will do their best on trying to screw you. Looks like they keep our hard earned money for personal use.

I work as a tax preparer with H&R Block. TWC knew that I was still working with H&R Block with few hours. The time came for season to start up again I missed a class they wanted me to take. I called to speak with them about the scheduling and the staff told me that I shouldn't worry about the class since hours were more than they were and I let them know that my hours picked up. But then I get a letter telling me I owed over a thousand back. When I complained they knocked it down to 247 I owed. I missed my appeal because my hours were 50 hours a week at work now they have placed a warrant for the money that I shouldn't have to pay. They know we use them to help out every end of season. They just want to sit on that money and not help the people they are to help.

Not very helpful, misleading information or wrong information completely told to me. I have been I titled for food stamps since March 27” and still haven’t done my interview.

I would give it 0 stars, if I could. Have been trying to get service through the Texas Workforce Commission for years and they are completely unhelpful, when anyone can even be reached, which isn’t often. The last time I went in, they gave me a printout of a long list of scam ‘work at home’ listings that anyone could find online, none of which are actual jobs. Anyway, I could discuss at length how harmful not being able to get help is, particularly for jobseekers such as myself, who are already marginalized in society

The Houston Texas Workforce Commission system has felt profoundly disorganized, dismissive, and deeply discouraging to navigate. At a time when vulnerable people are coming to them in genuine need of help, guidance, and timely support, the experience instead can feel cold, bureaucratic, and painfully indifferent. What has been most heartbreaking is not simply delays or confusion, but the feeling that human beings in crisis are too often treated like paperwork instead of people. When someone’s health, livelihood, dignity, and future are hanging in the balance, a system entrusted to help should never leave a person feeling abandoned, unheard, or defeated. I entered this process hoping for advocacy and meaningful assistance. Instead, I have too often been met with contradictions, lack of clarity, poor communication, and decisions that seem disconnected from the real-life consequences they carry. No one seeking help through a vocational rehabilitation program should walk away feeling more hopeless than when they arrived. It's a horrifying program and should be shut down.

I went through their vocational rehabilitation program to get a job because of my autism. They hired a third party service to get me a job. They were extremely unprofessional, with them seemingly only working 15 minutes a week. They even had all of our meetings at a mcdonalds. I was with them for a year (nov. 2024- nov 2025) and was only given 5 interviews during that time. I told them multiple times that due to my autism I had strong social anxiety, sensitivity to lights and sounds, and could not work with kids. Over half of the jobs that they tried to give me were with children. The job that they ended up giving me was as a security guard at a concert venue that did not require an interview and almost exclusively had 16 hour long shifts. The private company would not listen to me when I expressed my problems with the job and TWC would not believe me over the company, even after I stopped attending any shifts. I was forced to sign a contract that prohibited me from finding employment on my own. I eventually had to break it in order to find a job on my own. After a few months of working on my own, I was able to officially leave TWC. My caseworker acted as if she had no idea what was going on and I could not find any way to submit a complaint.
