They recommended the wrong process, my bank rejected it, and they refused a refund
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Apostille.us. Before ordering, I asked their team to review my document and confirm which service I needed for a bank in the Czech Republic. I relied on their guidance and paid for the service they recommended. My signature was witnessed by a New York remote online notary. Instead of obtaining an apostille that authenticated that notary, Apostille.us had the document certified again by a different notary in Illinois. The Illinois apostille therefore authenticated the second notary—not the New York notary who actually witnessed my signature. The Czech bank’s legal department rejected the documents for precisely this reason. An independent apostille professional also reviewed them and confirmed that the process used was unnecessarily complicated and did not properly authenticate the original notary. Apostille.us later acknowledged that “original document processing” was the correct pathway and offered me a 25% discount to pay for the process again. When I requested a full refund for the unusable service, they refused, claiming that the order had been completed according to the service purchased. That response ignores the central issue: I selected the service based on their professional guidance after asking them to review my situation. The finished product did not meet the clearly stated purpose, was rejected by the receiving bank, and caused me additional expense and significant delays. I would not recommend this company. If you use them, independently verify the exact apostille pathway before paying and do not assume their recommendation will satisfy the receiving authority.
