Andrea Stolpe’s retreat was very impactful, both in terms of what I learned about craft, and what I learned about myself as a songwriter.

The Andrea Stolpes Songwriting Retreat was a gift for the ages! Having the ability to deepen our knowledge of the art and craft of songwriting, to then use this knowledge to co-write and perform songs with fellow songwriters/musicians, to build relationships with songwriters/musicians from around the world, and to perform and get feedback on original songs that we brought to the retreat was simply one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Being Springtime, I can't help but think that many seeds of songs were planted and fertilized during the retreat, and it will be a joy to watch the many musical flowers blossom in the Garden of the Andrea Stolpe New York Songwriting Retreat over the upcoming months and years! Gratitude Abounds!

No matter where you are along your musical journey or how many years you've spent honing your craft, Andrea's retreat will inspire you to learn new tools and techniques to bring out your most creative songwriter self. Immersive and collaborative experiences offer insights and action steps that beckon us out of our comfort zones and into a state of interconnectedness where creativity flourishes. Andrea and her team do an amazing job providing a safe, creative and encouraging environment. I love the constructive approach to critiques that further encourage creativity instead of exacerbating possible insecurities. The entire retreat was filled with a wealth of knowledge I couldn't possibly summarize here. The team also facilitated building long-term, genuine relationships and connections that keep the forward momentum that is built during the retreat to continue our journey as songwriters. I feel immense gratitude for being accepted into this community of songwriters. Andrea and her team demonstrated to us that they cared deeply about each of us and it was obvious to me that they worked hard to provide us with a caring environment that takes a positive forward approach towards songwriters growth. Critiques were done in a way that was honest but encouraging. The collaboration groups were invaluable, I learned something new in each session. I was able to stretch my skills and talents even further than I could have imagined. By the end of this retreat, I learned new skills that help my songwriting. I found new confidence in my abilities. I was able to diminish insecurities. I had built connections with others. I now have a set of clear goals along with a group of wonderful songwriters to help us all stay motivated and accountable. I hope to be able to attend one of these retreats every year, I know that with each attendance I will grow as a songwriter.

I was nervous about going into a retreat where I would be writing songs with people I did not know. I have been a huge fan and student of Andrea's work in the past. I knew that would be great. What I wasn't prepared for was the transformational, and emotional energy of so many creative people coming together. It was a drink to quench all of the things I think I needed as a songwriter. Support, education, connection, caring...I could list so much. I went in wanting to learn about songwriting, and I came out with that, but I also came out with a community of support. HIGHLY recommend the retreats to anyone that feels stuck or unheard with their songwriting.

Learning from Andrea Stolpe was an experience of a lifetime! When you are in her classroom you feel seen, heard, and enriched! Her genuine love for humanity and music is felt and it’s so powerful! She’s incredibly intelligent, well spoken, funny, and delivers content is such a memorable way! LOVE her!!!

Andrea's songwriting retreat was everything I hoped it would be -- excellent teaching, useful tools that I can implement right away in my own songwriting, plenty of learn-by-doing exercises and collaborations, new friends, a spirit of joy in creativity, and a welcome respite from the world to just connect with nature, connect with other songwriters and musicians, and concentrate on my ideas and the art of songwriting.

Andrea is such a great teacher. My expectation of an egoic "bigger than life" persona was pleasantly denied. I found instead, down-to-earth and endearing. More importantly, she aptly conveyed complex abstracts in completely digestible terms.
