Disappointing Product and Even Worse…
Disappointing Product and Even Worse Customer Service I purchased these clippers from Sally Beauty on September 19, 2026, and discovered immediately that they were defective. After charging them until the battery indicated a full charge, they would not turn on. I also tried operating them while plugged into the power cord, as they were designed to do, and they still would not work. I had never actually used the clippers. I simply took them out of the box, charged them, and attempted to turn them on. Nevertheless, Sally Beauty refused to accept a return or exchange, directing me to deal with the manufacturer instead. The manufacturer required me to complete return paperwork and pay $15 for return shipping for a product that never worked in the first place. I contacted them to request reimbursement of that shipping charge, explaining why I felt it was unreasonable to make a customer pay to return a defective product. They never even bothered to respond to my request, let alone refund the $15. The clippers were eventually returned to me in working order, so apparently the manufacturer repaired or replaced them. I have no idea which, because there was absolutely no explanation, documentation, or communication included with the returned clippers. While I appreciate that the clippers were ultimately made functional, that does not excuse the lack of communication, the refusal to reimburse the return shipping cost, or the complete disregard for my request. A simple response would have been the bare minimum of acceptable customer service. The entire experience was unnecessarily frustrating, from receiving a defective product to being forced to pay out of pocket to return it, only to have the manufacturer ignore my request for reimbursement. A company’s responsibility to its customers should extend beyond simply getting a defective product working again. I would have expected better from a company selling new products. Based on this experience, I am extremely disappointed with the customer service and the way this situation was handled. The $15 charge was the icing on a very distasteful cake.
