I used this company because of all the great reviews. My inital contact with a rep was pleasant. We reviewed what I had and was instructed on how to wrap my artwork so as not to incur additional charges from them for wrapping. I did what he told me so no problems there. I was given a pickup timeline which extended over three days. OK no problem there. About 3 days before I was called and told that my move was moved up a day because another client had changed their mind. I told the woman this was impossible because she was cutting off a full day of packing and I had appointments I scheduled around their timeline. I was then told if they didn't come that day there was no guarantee they could move me before my vacate date. I was penalized for someone else's issue or they realized it was memorial day weekend and didnt have the man power. So I had to give hundreds of dollars worth of stuff away because I couldn't pack it in time and only so much could fit in my car. All my pots and pans, dishes, vacuum, etc gone. Then they told me that other things had to be wrapped like my couch table, entertainment center, etc. These things I was not told about. I had a lot of good cardboard I purchased for my artwork left over so I told them to use it. I was told they couldn't because theirs was "Premium". OK. So I was charged extra for all of that. They then told me I had more stuff than initially reported. True. The extra stuff consisted of a double sized mattress and bed frame and 2 extra boxes, but a piece I did include in the beginning wasn't coming after all. They then told me they were charging me extra for a 3rd floor with no elevator. OK, that too was discussed during my initial discussion. Technically, its not 3 floors since the first floor is the basement and there are only 21 steps. An average floor is 10 steps. my cost went from 2400 to 4000 after my stuff was loaded. Not like I had a choice at this point. Now the second part, the delivery of property to my storage unit in another state. They came with a semi he stated he couldn't back all the way to the door. OK, thats valid. So now I am charged with a "long carry fee" of 75.00. It was literally 67 steps from the truck to the door and another 83 to the unit all on dollies with wheels and I helped bring my stuff in. Some boxes clearly marked as "Glass Fragile" were crushed on the sides and corners. I had to sign that I received my stuff and a sentence that it was all in good condition was included as part of the statement. I signed but wrote just below it that some of the boxes were crushed and inventory couldn't be performed at that time. Driver wasn't waiting hours for me to go thru it. Its very frustrating when a company has you in a position you have no control over being in. Changing companies with only 3 days leeway and on Memorial day weekend would have been impossible. Maybe I was a one off, just one of those things that happened from time to time, but after reading a few of the reviews here I have to wonder. Just be careful.
